Create an Indoor Garden!

If you have a garden or a window box, you may have been inspired to get busy planting with the few days of lush weather we have been having, at least here in Cornwall. With more Bank Holidays and the Coronation Day, many of us will be taking to the great outdoors this month to tend to flowers and vegetables. With this in mind we have taken a look at all things Garden in this weeks newsletter. For those dreary days that keep you inside or for those of you without a garden to tend, then creating your own embroidered or pieced bit of garden in a project can be just the tonic.

This weekend not only marks the Coronation of King Charles III but it is also the birthday of Sally, the founder and owner of our beautiful shop. I am sure that you will all join us in wishing Sally a very lovely Birthday. In celebration she is offering 10% off across the whole shop, excluding Gift Vouchers, use the code Discount10 at the checkout. An ideal time to buy the fat 1/4 bundle or Fabric Pack you've had your eye on. Or maybe a lightbox or even a new sewing machine! The discount runs from now until midnight Monday 8th May.

BANK HOLIDAY OPENING - May is filled with Bank Holidays this year so there are several days when we will not be open in the physical shop but of course the website is available at all hours. The shop will be closed on Saturday 6th May, Monday 8th May and Monday 29th May. With all these holidays there may be some delays in sending and receiving orders but we, as always, try to process orders as soon as we can.

Happy Stitching and have a wonderful week and a most enjoyable weekend whether that involves watching the coronation, gathering with friends, camping in a field but hopefully all include time for sewing!

Best wishes
Sally & the girls

Market Garden

The beautiful Market Garden range from Hatched and Patched is so pretty in soft blues, creams and plums. We have fat 1/4s and fabric by the metre or part metre.

Plus there are two patterns that use this range, Market Garden Quilt pattern and Where Wildflowers Grow quilt. We have kits made up for them both. The difficulty is choosing which one to make. Michelle favours the Market Garden as it contains wool felt applique and the kits contain the sumptuous Lanacot Wools. Although the Where Wildflowers Grow is a pretty nine patch quilt with applique and stitchery.

Just to add more confusion, Miss Rosie's Garden by Hatched and Patched would also look fabulous in this range. Decisions decisions!

Garden Themed Books

In a French Garden is our newest edition to our book collection. Bursting with inspiration gleaned by the authors from a trip to Versailles.

Stitchery favourites from Kathy Schmitz, Stiches from the Garden and Stitches from the Harvest.

Quilter's Patch from Edyta Sitar of Laundry Basket Quilts and Flowers for Elizabeth, are contrasting books. The first is a patchwork garden using a variety of techniques. Flowers for Elizabeth is a collection of floral and botanical embroideries inspired by Elizabeth I and the Tudor age.

Garden Buttons

We love our selection of wooden buttons. They help to finish off a project so nicely. Why not use a set to make bunting or a mini wall hanging. If using the Bee Company wooden buttons simply use the packaging designs for display ideas by adding fabric or stitches. In the shop Sally has both seaside and Christmas bunting made this way if you want some ideas. Her seaside bunting can be seen here too.
