Sunshine at last

Who else feels better for having that beautiful warmth smiling down on us at long last? Here in Cornwall I have just returned from a delicious dog walk. It felt so good to not be covered head to toe in waterproofs. Even the dogs had more of a spring in their step and all around I could see signs of life blossoming. More buds and leaves on the trees, more vibrant colours and lots of flowers making a sudden appearance that were not there even yesterday. I hope you are also enjoying warmer dryer days. Maybe it's finally time for gardening or sitting outside with some hand stitching.

We have had some time this week to get on with planning workshops. Some are already added online for you to browse, with more to follow. If you don't live locally maybe you can plan a holiday to coincide with one you fancy joining in with. We have had such a good response to our Gail Pan days in July that we are now hosting a third day with her on Friday 19th July. Monday the 22nd is full and there are just a couple of spaces for Saturday 20th. We also have workshops from Cat Rowe, Louise Nichols and Caroline Michelle as well as more regular stitching groups.

New fabrics have arrived and include the soft woven cottons, Primrose Garden Weaves from Katie Solberg of Pieceful Gathering Quilt Shop. Plus the gorgeous 70's inspired Chelsea Garden range from Moda. Rich blues, plums, teals and creams in florals and paisleys. Utterly delicious!

We still have a vacancy for an additional member of staff to join us. If you are looking for a day or 2 a week, plus extra to cover holidays, love sewing and want to work in a beautiful place with an amazing team of friends, we are far more than colleagues, then please contact us. Full details below.

We look forward to helping you with all your sewing needs and seeing you in the shop, or chatting on the phone or online.
Best wishes

Evocative of London in the 1970s, Chelsea Garden is a rich collection of paisleys and both bold and ditsy florals. The fabrics remind me of the dresses my mum used to make me as a little girl and I loved to flounce around in. Maybe I should recreate some of the designs, although I will need a considerably larger amount of fabric now!

Moda Scrap Bag

Moda Scrap Bag
New restock - Each of these scrap bags includes over 1/2lb of fabric strips by Moda, all from a complete collection so they coordinate. Most strips are approx 4" wide. They are the pieces left after the bolts are cut into layer cakes and jelly rolls. A great use of fabric that was once wastage.

Each one differs, so it's a lucky dip!!! A sneak peak through the packet windows reveals fresh florals, festive vibes and autumn warmth.

These woven cottons are so deliciously soft to the touch. They are not printed designs but the patterns are woven threads that look like they are stitched into the fabric. Although they are gorgeous together, they also team well with our Japanese Woven fabrics.
