Busy busy busy
We are very glad we have had a big tidy up and change around at the shop as this week we have had a multitude of stock arriving to unbox and rehome. Plus we welcomed Louise Nichols back last weekend for her beautiful workshop on embellished floral pouches. If you missed out this time, she is back in April with her Swim Little Fishes Wall hanging. Originally planned for 2020 and postponed due to lockdown restrictions, we are happy to finally get a chance to see this beauty being made.
|
So what was in the boxes? I hear you ask.....Well, Kits a plenty from Louise Nichols, Corinne Lapierre and Beaks and Bobbins. Fabrics galore including from Moda, Silhouettes, Chroma Batiks and Land of Enchantment. Lots of linen ready for the new BOM Sunshine and Lollipops that starts in the next issue of Homespun magazine. There are still a few copies available so contact us if you'd like to subscribe.

Happy sewing. We look forward to helping you with all your sewing needs. Best wishes Sally & the girls

New Moda fabrics
Land of Enchantment is a vibrant range of fabrics by Sarah Thomas of Sariditty for Moda. Inspired by the sunshine all year long…breathing in the crisp, cool air with notes of juniper among the yucca and prickly pear…watching God’s creatures forage and play in the desert mountains…being at the centre of a hummingbird feeding frenzy…waking up before dawn to watch thousands of twinkling stars fade into the sunrise over the Sandia Mountains…New Mexico.

We do love batiks at Coast and Country and couldn't resist this new range. We have charm packs, layer cakes, and jelly rolls plus two bolts as the precuts coordinate really well with some of our existing batik stock. There are plenty online and many more in the shop to create a vibrant quilt.

Jenny Bear presents her first book with Quiltmania entitled “Fit for Purpose: Quilts for Warmth and Comfort”.
|
Jenny Bear is an Australian quilter who trained some thirty years ago with Di Ford and other great teachers.
|
Her style is traditional, but she says her fabric stock is rather eclectic. What she loves most of all is giving new life to disinherited textiles, salvaged blocks, abandoned tops, tiny scraps of fabric…
