WOW! We have been super busy

Hello once again. I hope everyone is well. Some of us have been working from home this week whilst nursing colds but what a busy bunch of bees our colleagues have been in the shop. In order to give us back our workshop space, but still have room for packing online orders and storing stock, we have rearranged our existing spaces. For those familiar with our physical shop. The 'children's' room down the steps on the right hand side of the shop has been closed off to create a larger office space. The shelves opposite and to the side of the linens, where the sewing machines all the threads were, have been dismantled and replaced by the shelving from the children's room. Look below to see the transformations.

We have been slightly sidetracked with all this hustle and bustle so apologies to anyone waiting for BOMs etc. We are back on the case. We will also be contacting all our regular group attendees to give you a start date. The joy of knowing we can have everyone back in the shop and sewing together again is so uplifting during these often dreary days of February.

To celebrate having our workshop space open and back to normal we have already got two workshops booked. Caroline Michelle is back with her free motion embroidery and raw edge applique pictures. Details below. We also have Mary's Journal Cover on Saturday March 9th.

The last week we have also been busy cutting Tilda Jubilee fabrics ready for the Sunshine and Lollipops BOM from Anni Downs. All of the fabric is being used for these kits but we do have some precuts and buttons available and they are gorgeous. Only a few of each are available.

A reminder that in order to help make room for the switch around we now have most of our festive fabrics at £12 metre or £3 a fat 1/4. There are also other sale fabrics some at just £10 a metre plus end of rolls and other bargains.

Happy sewing and let us know how we can help you with all your sewing needs.
Best wishes

The Big Refit!

Before - once the felts, sewing machines and shelves were removed. Commonly previously known as the Sales Room/ Button Room or Linen Room
After - with all the shelves and fabrics displayed afresh
Linens and Japanese Wovens nicely nestled together.
Taken with our back to the linen, where the sewing threads were, looking towards our office/stock room door and the wall where the sewing machines were.

What was the existing office combined with the 'children's' room. Still a work in progress. The brown panel on the right is the back of the shelves that are at the top of where the steps were. Henry Hoover having a well earned rest after sucking up plenty of dustballs and dead spiders!
The bolts of woolfelts are all now by the felt kits and smaller felt squares. The bolts are on the shelves that now block the steps that went down to the nautical and children's fabrics. Our office space is tucked in behind.
All the threads in one place at last, along with our ric-racs and ribbons.
Not forgetting the rest of the shop which has had a freshen up too.

Tilda Jubilee

This year, Tilda turns 25 and to celebrate the occasion the designers have gathered fabric designs from different collections over the years to create the colourful Jubilee range. The range has a cheery palette of reds and blues accompanied by teals, yellows and pinks.

The Circus Life design from the Circus 2017 collection has been renewed in a Jubilee edition, and is matched up with a selection of patterns from other Tilda ranges. See if you can spot which ones have been rejigged for this celebratory collection.

We have 5" charm squares, 10" layer cakes, jelly rolls and two sets of coordinating fabric covered buttons. Snap them up though as stock is limited.

Buttons Galore

We have opened up a large box of buttons from Dress-it-Up. These come in such a large variety of colours and designs. From simple round buttons, tiny stars and hearts, to more quirky sea shells, ladybirds and snowflake. They can be used to add washable embellishment to all your projects as well as being used to add colour to bought or handmade cardis or sweaters. Nothing transforms an otherwise plain outfit quite so easily as some colourful funky buttons.
