New Patterns and Fabulous Fabric

Firstly, thank you for bearing with us this week if you were trying to reach us. We had no internet at the shop for over 48 hours as cables were damaged outside. We rose to the occasion by having calls diverted to Sally at 'Head Office' aka Home. Michelle was taking customers into the car park to take card payments where she could get a mobile signal, and June had music playing through her phone to keep us sane. Hopefully there wasn't too much disruption for anyone but it was a little frustrating for us. As usual we just kept calm and carried on. Well calm-ish!

Anyway, on to lovely things! We have this week unpacked a large box of patterns from Natalie Bird of The Birdhouse. In amongst familiar favourites like We Three Birds, are several brand new designs that we know will be popular- My Red Satchel, Sentimental Stitches and Maisie's Garden Bag . Plus, the popularity of Letter to my Daughter, which appeared as a Block of the Month in Homespun magazine last year, has ensured it is now available as a pattern on its own.

We have also had a delivery of patterns from Lynette Anderson so are restocked, and just about to come in the door and on the cutting table ready for sending out at the end of next week is the new Tilda fabric range, Hometown. As always, stunning designs and colours on beautiful high quality cotton.

Straight from Quiltmania in France are three lovely new issues of their magazines Simply Vintage, Quiltmania and Simply Moderne. All filled with lots of ideas and inspirations.

A reminder that we have extended the Christmas Mini Charm challenge until December 9th. For the chance to win a £25 shop voucher and all the full details visit our blog here.

Also please bear with us as we cope with more postal strikes. Some parcels will be taking longer than usual to arrive. First Class and Special Delivery take precedence but there is no guarantee of a super quick turn around by the post office, despite us aiming to process and pack all orders within 24 hours of receiving them.

Have a wonderful week.

Happy Stitching
Best wishes

The Birdhouse Delivery

Such beautiful new patterns have arrived from Natalie Bird. We really don't know which one to make first!

Sentimental Stitches -
Using this pattern, you can make either a doorstop, or a fabric bucket.
Three mini stitcheries are provided, pre-printed on homespun fabric, which you can mix and match with either project.

Maisie's Garden Bag -
A great little casual handbag which is heaps of fun to make. Also included, pincushion, tiny needlebook and thread catcher.
Pattern includes instructions for all projects, plus a pre-printed stitchery panel.

The little Red Satchel bag with an appliqué design on red linen and an English paper-pieced hexagon back and flap. Just the right size for a purse and phone, or mini iPad, e-reader etc We think it would also look good made with a woolfelt background.

Tilda Hometown fabric range

Home is where the heart is, and perhaps never more so than now. Hometown is a cozy collection where the love of home and community has been the main inspiration for Tone Finnanger, the designer behind Tilda.
Drawings of neighbourhoods, houses, gardens and gatherings in Autumn colors, are perfect for your quilts and projects.
The rusty red tones – perhaps combined with green – will also work well for Christmas projects.

This collection is due in mid week so you can pre order for sending out as soon as we cut it for you.
