Have fun with freemotion embroidery using different elements including wool and dissolvable fabric. This class is aimed at both beginners and the more experienced alike. In this workshop you will be guided through different exercises to discover just how versatile this technique really can be, particularly when creating relief and highly textural pieces. This workshop is taught by Caroline Michelle who is a local textile artist specialising in freemotion embroidery. Throughout the day you will be taught the skills and techniques required to be able to develop and continue this technique in your own projects in the future. Please bring along your sewing machine as well as a freemotion embroidery foot.
Wool and dissolvable fabric is supplied but you will need to bring the following materials and equipment with you:

Sewing Machine
Freemotion embroidery foot
Pieces of plain felt (roughly 10”x10”)
Bondaweb
A small variety of fabric scraps
A variety of different coloured threads
Your usual sewing equipment, scissors etc
Additional Bondaweb will be available to purchase on the day should you wish to do so.
This is a small class with no more than 8 people so you’ll receive lots of individual attention
The class runs from 10 – 4 so you can arrive from 9.45am.
Please bring a mug with you for your hot drinks.
Lunch – you can either bring a packed lunch or we can order a takeaway or book a table for you at the Olive Grove when you arrive.
Parking – there is free parking on site. Please use the small car park behind our main shop if possible, otherwise the overflow car park accessed to the left through the main car park.

Booking a workshop
As our classes are popular and fill up quickly, we operate a ‘first come, first served’ policy with a small reserve list in case of cancellations. Bookings can be made by telephone or by calling into the shop. Full payment for classes and kits must be made at the time of booking, so if you book by phone, please have details of your credit or debit card ready. If you join one of our Block of the Month groups, we request that all classes are paid for whether you attend or not, as we still have the tutors & rent to pay. We also accept cheques by post. Cancelling a workshop
If you need to cancel a workshop, please contact us as soon as possible. It is possible that we may be able to fill your place from the reserve list. Course fees are only refundable if your place can be resold, & a £5 administration fee will be charged.
