Constance – Quilt Pattern – A timeless and elegant design featuring traditional patchwork techniques and fusible appliqué.

There are two versions of Janet Clare’s “Constance” quilt, this two tone version & the Botanicals version. This beautiful two tone quilt is named after Constance Spry, as you will be spending rather a lot of time informally arranging flowers just as she loved to do!

Janet loves sifting through her stash and selecting fabrics to make quilts – the beauty of this is that the quilt you make will always be unique and it means you will soon have room to buy more lovely fabric!

 Constance quilt features two tones and uses indigo and cream texture fabrics from Janet’s collections for Moda but you could easily choose your own.

Using traditional patchwork piecing and fusible appliqué, having some patchwork experience will make this project easier, but the techniques are simple to learn, making it suitable for all experience levels.

The pattern is printed in full colour and includes colour photographs, detailed layout diagrams, fabric requirements and cutting lists. A detailed layout diagram shows the exact arrangement of fabrics and lots of supporting photographs, mean you can confidently re-create my design. The pattern guides you through cutting your fabric, preparing and piecing the blocks, and includes notes on preparing the quilt backing, wadding, layering up and binding.

Requirements:
FOR PIECING THE FRONT AND APPLIQUÉ
> Indigo fabrics, 2 1⁄4 yds
> Cream fabrics, 3 yds
> Fusible Web, 1 1⁄2 m (40 cm wide)

FOR BINDING
> Indigo fabric, 1⁄2 yd

FOR LAYERING UP AND BACKING
> 4 yds fabric (one horizontal seam)
> Wadding, 69 x 69 inches

Finished quilt measures 61 x 61 inches.
