Workshops, Hand Stitching & Snuggly Wadding
We have all noticed the drop in temperature this week. We were lucky enough to avoid the worst of the storm but the trees are losing their leaves yet at the same time we have seen new roses blooming and there seems to be a real muddle of seasons as we transition from Summer into Autumn.
In this week's parcels have been new patterns and restock from Kathy Schmitz including, rather appropriately, Season Samplers. We have a new supply of her Simply Sweet book and Scented Christmas Bowlies and Deck the Boughs patterns too.
Also new to us is Bamboo wadding. It so so soft to touch and is good for hand or machine quilting. Plus a new Robin Pickens pattern, Leaf Press. Perfect timing for Autumn with pieced leaves tumbling down.
Tilda's Hibernation is in the shop and being cut ready to send out on Monday. We have fallen in love with the sleepy woodland animals and the rich colour palette.
Last, but by no means least, we have more workshops booked in to tempt you. Both Caroline Michelle and Louise Nichols are coming to teach for us and we are so excited to welcome them and our customers back. Plenty more ideas are in the pipeline plus plans are afoot for this years advent calendar boxes. More details for both to follow soon.
As always, keep sewing and creating and have a wonderful week. Best wishes Sally & the girls

It feels so so good to be announcing the start of workshops again. We have really missed offering them. So far we have two local textile artists offering workshops and we will be adding more as we settle into our new space. All workshops will be added to our Workshop Calendar, along with the regular monthly groups. We are busy sorting out the groups and anyone interested will be contacted with more details just as soon as we are able to give them.
The first workshop with Caroline Michelle is fully booked on October 14th but she is offering her beginners Free Motion Applique workshop again on November 14th as well as her Christmas Wreath workshop on November 23rd. To take part in the wreath workshop you will need to be used to free motion work or have attended the beginners workshop.
The next workshops are being offered by Louise Nichols. Her embellished lino print kits and workshops are always popular and we already have customers booked in for her February & April dates! We have Louise visiting three times, November 11th for Triangular Trees, February 10th is Floral Embellished pouches and April 13th is the Swim Little Fishes wall hanging.

We adore these new Season Samplers from Kathy Schmitz. One for each of the four seasons, available individually or as a set. They would look lovely displayed in a Table top Quilt Stand
We are busy making samples for the shop using variegated DMC threads. We have been learning a new technique for transferring images onto fabric using freezer paper and a light box as explained by Kathy Schmitz in her video tutorials. Each of the patterns contain a reversed image and QR codes to link direct from your phone or devise to the video tutorials explaining Kathy Schmitz's transfer technique and stitching guides. Well worth a watch as it was revelatory for us.

Sleepy woodland creatures and beautiful florals in blues, greens, browns, pinks and purples combine to bring us this lovely new Hibernation range from Tilda. Available as fat or long 1/4s and in layer cakes, jelly rolls and charms as well as buttons in two colour options. Hibernation has Eucalyptus & Olive Branch Blenders & they all combine beautifully with the Tilda solids and Chambrays too.
