Bonjour, G'Day, Hi Y'all, Hello & Alright Me Ansum

This week in our little corner of Cornwall, we have received more boxes of goodies from around the world. Denmark, Australia, New Zealand and America. We have also sent parcels and taken orders from customers in Canada, Belgium, France, America and Portugal. Sally is off on her travels to France and arranged to meet one of our gorgeous suppliers, Jackie Nichols, from House on the Hill, who was over from New Zealand. Don't you just love how sewing brings people together from all over? That common thread, excuse the pun, that joins us all no matter what our location.

The New Anni Downs Block of the Month, A Day in Happyland, continues to fly out. We have quadrupled our original pattern order to cope with the popularity. There are a few left. Anyone already signed up or purchasing the pattern will receive an email next week with further information.

In at last are new supplies of Roxanne's Glue, as recommended by Gail Pan when she visited last month. There are four different products and a little goes a long way. The tiniest of dots helps to secure your work. We have a new books and patterns from Kathy Schmitz, Kaffe Fassett and Edyta Sitar.

Coming up this week is Beacon Quilter's Exhibition. This runs from the 14th -16th September 10am - 4pm daily. Held at St Petroc's Church, Priory Road, Bodmin PL31 2DT. £2 entry. Raffle prizes and light refreshments and a beautiful array of quilts made by the members. All proceeds to be shared between St Petroc's Church and the Bodmin and Lanivet Music Group. We wish them luck with their exhibition!

We look forward to helping you with all your sewing needs. Have a wonderful week
Best wishes

Sally, on the right, was thrilled to meet up with Jackie while they were both in France.

Jackie Nicholls of House on the Hill

We adore Jackie Nicholls designs that often using a faded vintage feel palette and naïve stitching.

"From a young age, Jackie developed a passion for colours and pretty things. Spending summers drawing and studying wildflowers, collecting stones and shells, mixing and matching paint colours and drawing little houses, always on a hill with a tree or two. Many years were spent learning to sew, making and designing clothes which then lead to stitching and simple quilting."

We have had box one of two deliveries from her in New Zealand. The next shipment should arrive in October. In box one were patterns aplenty including the new one In the Garden Wall Hanging that includes a wooden cut out doll to paint. Alongside this pattern were the popular Life's a Journey, Days in Provence, Vintage Memories and the Simply Rouge booklet and many more.

Two versions of Life's a Journey. One in Tilda fabrics and the other in country reds. We have fabric packs available in both colourways.

Kathy Schmitz New Arrivals

Three new patterns and a booklet from Kathy Schmitz are getting our creative juices flowing this week. Two festive patterns are Deck the Boughs and Scented Christmas Bowlies. The first is for small embroidered decorations that Sarah wants to make as a garland which we think is a marvellous idea. The little embroidered pillows or Bowlies are made to be filled with cloves to bring a festive scent to your home. Mmmmmm I can smell them now!

Simply Sweet is a booklet filled with 64 tiny stitchery patterns that can be used in separate projects or made into a wall hanging. Each design fits nicely within a 2″ circle and most fit in a 1″ hexagon.

Eastmoreland is a pattern to make a 16" x 20" wall hanging filled with houses designed to be made using mini charms but could also be made using your scraps. Michelle thinks she might make a festive version using Blizzard mini charms, a country style version in Morris Meadow.or a summery style one in Promenade or then again bright and cheerful in Sweet Melodies. Decisions decisions!
