Getting back into the swing of things
All of us have been slowly getting back up to speed after our brush with Covid last week, brains have been foggy but seeing all our lovely stock and wonderful customers has given us a daily boost. Thank you for bearing with us.

This week we received a large restock of patterns from Janet Clare, including a reprint of the popular Great Gulls quilt that was previously out of print. We have been busy making up fabric kits for several of the patterns. Below we look at the patterns, books and fabric from this prolific British designer.

If you are were disappointed that there were no tickets left, we now have two spare tickets for the Gail Pan day on Tuesday 8th August. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances four ladies are no longer able to attend. Are you able to join us? Full details below. River Camel Quilters have an exhibition next week. Tuesday 1st - Saturday 5th August. Look below at the poster for full details & there will be a raffle in aid of Cancer Research and refreshments are available.

We are very excited to have internationally renowned designer & teacher Gail Pan from Australia, coming to teach here at Coast & Country Crafts & Quilts in Perranarworthal, Cornwall after her visit to the Festival of Quilts in August. The workshop will be hand stitching with a selection of Gail’s signature bag designs available.
|
Stitching Day with Gail Pan will be held in The Olive Grove Bistro, which is on site where our shop is situated.

Tuesday 8th August ~ Cost £85 per person

This is our big event of the year! We will have exclusive use of the Olive Grove Bistro for the day. The day begins at 10am with coffee & biscuits on arrival & a chance to open your goodie bag. This workshop will offer a gorgeous assortment of bag projects to choose from with Gail assisting you & she’ll discuss different finishing techniques she uses during the day.

Your day includes a delicious lunch, as well as afternoon tea & cake provided by the Olive Grove Bistro. Enjoy a “Show & Tell” by Gail whilst you’re stitching after lunch.

We were so pleased to see that Great Gulls has returned as a pattern, now made up using the To The Sea range of fabric. We have made up kits for this pattern which includes a layer cake cut by ourselves and 1/2m binding fabric.

Janet Clare is known for her sea themed ranges and patterns but she has also designed many other patterns and books with themes of birds, dogs, horses, flowers and even airplanes!
