New Block of the Month and Felt kits
Hello and welcome to our newsletter once more. Thank you for all the lovely feedback regarding the newsletter. It really does mean a lot to us and we are pleased that we spread a little happiness each week with what we share. So time for a cuppa, a comfy chair and a browse of our little slice of fabric heaven from the comfort of your home.

This week our big news is that we have the exciting details to share regarding a brand new Block of the Month (BOM) from Anni Downs of Hatched and Patched. A Day in Happyland is typical of Anni's whimsical style and is made using slow stitching wool applique and embroidery. Before even writing this newsletter over half of our original stock of this BOM had been bought on pre order. Thankfully we are able to secure some more but they really are flying out. We had a large delivery of patterns from Natalie Bird at The Birdhouse this week, including the gorgeous new Tully Tote.
|
Also new in are gorgeous fabrics featuring dogs, cats and jungle animals as well as two panels to make soft toy cats and dogs. Two large boxes came filled with Corinne Lapierre kits. These kits are full of all you need to make gorgeous gifts or decorations. All you need in addition is a pair of scissors and a little time.

We don't know about you but we think we will all be in Happyland while making this delightful quilt from Anni Downs.
|
It is due in with us in September but is available as a pre-order product now to be posted out as soon as we receive the patterns. The wool packs will follow in October but are also available as a pre order product.

This is a designed as a 12-part quilt which comes as a stand alone pattern (with all 12 parts together) for £33, or we can break the pattern apart and run it as a BOM. Each of the 12 parts of the pattern has a colour photo showcasing that part along with all instructions to complete that part. If you would prefer to receive this as a monthly Block then please contact us to set this up. Each block will be £3 plus £2.50 p & p.

The wool packs are £11.75 per block plus postage.

This is one of the most relaxing quilts to make, consisting mainly of wool applique and stitchery. Each month there are at least 6 applique images to create, each being stitched on a natural linen background. These are then stitched down onto a background fabric, giving the illusion of the blocks floating around together.

The techniques are very simple, using fusible web applique and a whip-stitch for the woven wool applique, and mainly backstitch for the stitchery component. We have had beginners create Anni’s other wool BOM quilts (Dancing Chickens & Flying Pigs, and The Santa, The Tree, The Turkey & Me), and have had great feedback from them. They are not hard quilts to create, just hand-sewing at its best!

We took delivery of two delicious boxes of gorgeousness this week stuffed full of kits from Corinne Lapierre. We now have plenty of stock of her felt kits including the super popular Christmas with the Mouse Family. Also in the boxes were three new Folk Embroidered mini kits - Dog, Cat and Hummingbird, plus two hooped embroidery projects, King of the Woods and Birds and Blossoms. These kits include a preprinted linen pattern for you to embellish with embroidery stitches.

All these kits are perfect gifts or to take on the move as all you need on top of what's in the box is a pair of scissors.

A lot of us have cats and dogs at home and who can resist these cute little soft toys. Made using the Here Kitty Kitty and Dog Daze panels The panels come printed with the stuffed toys, their clothes and the instructions.

Funky colours printed with hearts , rainbows, friendly lions, giraffes, elephants, zebras and other safari animals bring a real pop of colour to our children's section of the shop. In the Jungle from Makower is bound to be a popular collection to make quilts for little ones.
