Cosy toes and busy fingers

With the weather changing and the nights drawing out but still a nip in the air, we like to keep busy and warm by sewing away. This week we showcase soft and warm Flannels. They make the most incredibly snuggly quilts and scarves. We also have new stock of our popular polar fleece in a variety of colours. They are great as quilt backings as they are super soft and warm without the need for wadding.

New arrivals are two magazines - Homespun issue 211 and Inspirations 117. Both jammed full of projects to keep you busy. Homespun also has a sneak preview of the Owl and Hare BOM that starts in the next issue.
Also new is the stunning book, Flowers for Elizabeth. A collection of exquisitely embroidered botanical motifs in celebration of the opulence and beauty of the Elizabethan era.

Fresh off the cutting table and back in stock are fabric kits for the Willowbrook Hexi Quilt by Natalie Bird. A delightful blend of hand embroidery and paper pieced hexagons.

Another new project is Mary's gorgeous bag and cushion set made using Effie's Wood fabric. A pretty soft hued collection.

What will keep you busy over the next few weeks?

As always, enjoy your sewing and have a wonderful week.
Best wishes

Cosy Flannels

The days are starting to get a little longer again but the night are still quite nippy so why not make a quick flannel quick to keep you cosy? Sally has created two gorgeous patterns to tempt you, Yuletide Star Quilt and a Raggy Quilt. Both originally made using precut layer cakes and charm squares but they can both be made with a selection of fat or long 1/4s.
Mary's scarf is a quick and cosy make for the cooler days and evenings. A flannel scarf is just so soft and non itchy next to your skin. The kit includes the pattern and all the flannels to make the scarf. Then choose your own colours to make some for different outfits or as a quick gift.

Flowers for Elizabeth Book

A collection of exquisitely embroidered botanical motifs in celebration of the opulence and beauty of the Elizabethan era.

When acclaimed needlework artist Susan O'Connor set out to celebrate her love of Elizabethan Botanicals, a stitched masterpiece was born. Her stunning wool and cashmere blanket inspired by the sumptuous embroidery of the Elizabethan era took us on a tour of a 16th century garden, showcasing some of the Queen's favourite fruits and flowers through 24 beautifully designed motifs.

In this new book, Susan has expanded her collection of motifs and created fourteen additional projects including pinwheels for each pair of fruits and flowers, plus a needlebook and scissor sheath to complete a set of beautiful accessories with your chosen motifs.

New photography features throughout, highlighting the beauty and detail of the designs now presented in both wool and silk, along with complete instructions to make the original blanket and new accessories.
