Cosy up with a good read and a soft quilt -

Hello once more. How has the week been for you? We trust that you are able to enjoy the bright sunny moments between downpours. In weather like this we feel both blessed and cursed to have dogs. On the one hand to trudge through mud and showers is no fun but on the other they make us get outside for fresh air and exercise and give us so much joy. As long as we are able to get cosy when we get back home, and keep warm and dry while out and about.

We have found a new love for flannel as the days get chillier. Michelle has designed a new scarf to keep necks cosy using our latest selection of brighter flannels, in Autumnal red, orange and green. We also have two of Mary's scarf patterns, one for an infinity scarf and the other for using flannels. Of course the scarves can be made using any fabric. We have seen them made in batik, Japanese fabrics, flannel and quilting cotton. All versions are beautiful, but the flannels create such a soft hug around the neck, & we also have the lovely Winter Days range, perfect for little ones.

New stock keeps arriving along with new inspirations. I mean literally Inspirations as this week, from Australia, we have received the latest edition of Inspirations Magazine along with Volume 5 of the Handpicked Collection and this years Inspirations Calendar. Just look below at all the gorgeous embroidery projects filling their pages. So many delightful things to make!

This week we had another box filled with goodies from Corinne Lapierre including the brand new Mouse Embroidery Sampler book and more of the Stick and Stitch embroidery sheets that sold out within hours last time. There were also more felt bundles in the box and further stock of kits including festive makes.

Thank you for your support and custom. We enjoy chatting with you online and over the phone, helping you to get the right fabrics and threads for your projects, and hope to see many of you in person at the various events coming up.
With our Very Best wishes

The Prairie Gatherings flannels are a cheery addition to our flannel range and can be used for quilts but also make super warm scarves. Michelle has used the range in her An Autumn Hug Scarf pattern, available as a pack with pattern and fabric. Flannels have also been used in The Farmhouse Flannel scarf pattern from Mary and the Infinity scarf can be made with flannels too.
Lakeside Gatherings Flannels are in shades of cream, beige and blue for a fresh look.

Look at this divine stitchery book newly arrived from Corinne Lapierre. If you’re stuck in a stitch rut or would like to teach someone embroidery stitches, then Corinne’s new Mouse Embroidery Sampler Book is just the thing! Discover over 40 stitches, many never before used in a Corinne Lapierre design.
Of course we have also received more stock of kits, felt bundles and the fabulous sell out Stick and Stitch embroidery sheets. Simply cut around each motif, stick to your chosen background, stitch over the design then wash away the paper leaving the embroidery on the background.
Our woolfelt is super soft yet strong. This wool rayon blend is so much nice to use than the acrylic sheets of childhood memories and in lots of lush colours.
We have used the woolfelt in two of our own festive patterns and kits - Santa Door Hanger and Mouse in a Stocking.
To accompany our own woolfelts and the Corinne Lapierre felt bundles, we have created coordinating DMC thread packs. Useful collections in their own right too as you know that they all go together well.
Just look at all the gorgeous projects inside these three new editions from Inspirations. The 2026 Calendar, The latest magazine issue and Volume 5 of The Handpicked Collection. Such exquisite work with full instructions inside the magazine and book for all the projects.

Michelle is helping to run a new Craft Hub in Carnkie (Wendron) Village Hall on Tuesdays. This week everyone had fun creating cushion covers and tote bags using Indian Block Printing. It is quite addictive and we will be revisiting it in the future. There may be Christmas stamps on their way!

This coming Tuesday we will be making wet felt beads, balls and bowls. Three hours of creativity for £20 to include materials and refreshments. For full details and to book go to the event page, just click the photo to see it.
