Happiness is seeing smiling faces -
Good morning. We hope that your week has been kind to you. Our hearts are full this week. On Tuesday we had our Autumn Get Together and Pop Up Shop. What a delight it was to see so many of our lovely customers. There was lots of chatter, plenty of hugs and a ready supply of cake. Oh, and there was also a lot of beautiful sewing too. Several ladies opted for the Table centres and Welcome embroidery hoop designed by Mary, but there were lots of other projects being sewn including quilts and embroideries. As always, when women gather to create, magic happens. The smiles and the friendships and the shared love of sewing created a wonderful atmosphere.

We were astounded by the sell out of our Tilda Merry Little Christmas Scrap Bags. We have managed to create a few more for those who missed out first time. We still have sparkly festive and other scrap bags, and have created some new ones to accompany our stock of Tilly Rose books that arrived this week. These bags have lots of bits of trims and ribbons that are perfect for replicating her vintage style journals, quilts and collages. We also have a very limited supply of Liberty Tana Lawn Scrap bags. These are made using the last of our Tana Lawn stock.

More Christmas inspiration arrived in the form of the Christmas at Cowslip book by our friend Jo Colwill at Cowslip Workshops just up the road in Launceston. This book is a compilation of some of Jo's best festive sewing projects, including pillows, quilts and an advent calendar. Mary's patterns from the Get Together are now available to buy for those unable to make the day last week. There is a Welcome Embroidery Hoop and a 2 for 1 pattern to make either a Pumpkin or Christmas Pudding Table Centre.

Thank you for your support and custom. We enjoy chatting with you online and over the phone, helping you to get the right fabrics and threads for your projects, and hope to see many of you in person at the various events coming up.

We love Jo and her books are delightful and inspirational. Each packed with ideas for the home including cushions, quilts, wall hangings and even the advent calendar in Christmas at Cowslip. The projects are a combination of different techniques including simple patchwork, more advanced piecing, various applique techniques, hand and machine quilting and some additional hand embroidery. There are projects for beginners and the more experienced sewer. Jo loves to use the smallest pieces of fabrics with little waste so if you don't have a scrap stash then our festive scrap bags might be useful.

Both Jo Colwill and Tilly Rose use a lot of linen and woven fabrics in their projects. We have a large selection of both to help you get what you need for each pattern.

With the arrival of the Tilly Rose books, we realised that we had oodles of trims and ribbons that would be perfect for the journals and stitched items in the books. However, they were not online so you had no idea we had them! We know how popular our scrap bags are so we decided to put together a selection of trims in two colourways, Brights and Neutrals. Each bag contains a variety of trims, ribbons, ric rac, pom poms etc. All different but all lovely. Of course we also have plenty of other scrap bags that are useful for the scrappy style projects in the Tilly Rose books as well as for English Paper Piecing, applique and even large scrappy quilts.

These very special scrap bags contain a selection of Liberty Tana Lawn fabrics and also some precut Alice Caroline Tana Lawn hearts and a piece of Liberty ribbon. They would compliment the Tilly Rose Books beautifully, along with the Liberty Lasenby Quilting Cotton scrap bags.
