Festive arrivals...
Happy weekend. How are things with you today? We are glad of some rain to nourish the land and to have a little respite from the heat. Of course, no doubt, we will be longing for warm days again during the depths of winter. I actually love the change of seasons though. A time to reflect and have a mini reset. To plan and prepare projects when not spending all the time out in the garden.

This week has seen us frantically begin cutting all the gorgeous new Merry Little Christmas range from Tilda. What a pleasure it has been to handle such beautiful quality, colour and designed fabrics. We have started making custom kits up for those that have asked us about them. We still have some cutting of long and fat 1/4s to do so please bear with us if you have preordered this range or a kit. We are working our way through things as quickly as we can. There are 32 bolts of deliciousness to keep us busy. We will certainly be building up our arm muscles as we handle the bolts and then cut, fold and pack everything.

As we have cut this new Tilda collection we have been chatting about what projects we want to make ourselves using the range. The Winter Birds Quilt is proving very popular in both colourways. We love the stockings and the Father Christmas Wall hanging too. The patterns will be available to download free from Tildas World from September 1st. Some sneaky peeks below. Pre Covid we used to hold regular Christmas in July events. Since then it has been more difficult due to restrictions in the early days and then production and deliveries became delayed. So instead we are using our newsletter for Christmas in August!. We know it is still several months away but it is never too early to get ahead of the game and be prepared. We have noticed that many of the orders we are receiving already contain Christmas fabrics and patterns so we wanted to make sure no one was left in the starting blocks and missed out on our Christmas fabrics at some amazing prices.

We have had our second delivery of wire hangers and are pleased to have a good stock of all of them, however, we are saddened that this is potentially our last delivery of them due to the manufacturer closing their production facility last month. They really are the crowning glory of small mini quilts and wall hangings. Ranging from a mere 4" wide to 12". Available in festive designs including snowmen and snowflakes, as well as the versatile heart and star hangers, with or without a wooden dowel.

Some of us met up on Thursday to visit the Kernow Quilters Exhibition in Falmouth. What an absolute pleasure it was to see absolutely stunning creations. A few pics below and a full gallery on our blog pages. Worth seeing if you can. Last day is today, Saturday.

We have all the main range and the coordinating blenders of Tilda Merry Little Christmas. Our bundles contain both so you get a whopping 32 different fabrics as either Fat 1/4s or Fat 1/8s.
|
|
Of course they are also available as long 1/4s in increments of 25cm. If you need or want a continuous piece please opt for multiple long 1/4s eg 2 LQ = 50cm, 4 LQ = 1m. If you order multiple fat 1/4s of the same fabric they are sent as separate fat 1/4s.

This beautiful quilt is a free pattern from Tilda and uses the Merry Little Christmas range. The pattern is available from Monday 1st September. We have the complete range and will be making kits up as soon as we are able to and if they are requested, but don't dither, as most of these fabrics are already sold out at the wholesalers. Let us know if you see something that takes your fancy and we will do our best to accommodate.

We love our selection of wire hangers. They do give a hanging a more polished finish and add more interest without detracting from the hard work of your stitching or piecing.

Above is A Pear-Fect Christmas. A nod to the song, The 12 Days of Christmas. We have made project packs of this range. Each pack includes a delightful panel with the images from the 12 Days Song, plus 11 fat 1/8s. It can be used as a centre panel framed by the fabrics for a simple hanging or lap quilt, or sashed and bordered to make a larger item, or even cut into individual images for cushions, sacks or hangings. We would love to see what you make.

We were blown away with the beautiful quilts and makes on display at the exhibition held by local quilting group Kernow Quilters.
