Good day to you. Another week has passed and what delightful week it has been. We have been pleased to help lots of our wonderful customers. Chats aplenty on the phone and via email, and even a retired staff member who popped in in person.

We were sad to say goodbye to Mary on her last day on Monday but some of the Coast and Country team met up on Thursday to have some lunch and visit the amazing textile exhibition at Truro Cathedral. If you are in the area we thoroughly recommend a visit to see the stunning textile arts of Jacqui Parkinson. 12 huge images depicting the story of creation. We were intrigued by her techniques and are both inspired and humbled. Be quick though as it is only there until Tuesday August 19th.

This week we have had a delicious box of goods from Alice Caroline. Her use of Liberty Tana Lawn is well known and the new arrivals definitely do not disappoint. Mixed Charm packs, pre cut hexagons and hearts, as well as three new project packs for a bee cushion, a forest animals wall hanging and a mini sampler quilt. Which one to start with?...

We have added new ric rac to the website. Several Jumbo size which are 35mm wide, plus some additional mini ric rac which varies from teeny tiny 3mm wide up to 10mm wide. Ric rac is a pretty addition to many projects. We fancy using it on our new passion of jam jar and bowl covers! Details below.

These pre cut hearts are ready to use for applique or make some pretty hanging hearts, maybe filled with lavender to create scented clothes fresheners to hang in your wardrobe. Use our toy filler and trim with ric rac like in the image.

The new Jumbo ric rac is 100% cotton and 35mm wide from the top of the 'wave' to the bottom. The mini ric rac varies from 3mm - 10mm and some is cotton and some is polyester but feels like cotton. We also have Super Jumbo size at 40mm to make a real statement and standard 16mm ric rac. Something suitable for every project in various sizes and shades.

While we are still enjoying the Summer Sun, it is a great time to look at summer patterns, kits and projects. Here are some pretty summer patterns to tempt you. We have taken a shine to foraging for blackberries as they are especially abundant right now. There are also tonnes of lush strawberries and other fruits in the shops. We are looking for numerous ways to use them, crumbles, freezing for the winter and especially jam. What a lovely gift for someone, to hand them home made jam decorated with a fabric cover to the jar. We have also loved making fabric bowl covers. Great for covering dishes at parties, barbecues and for transporting them. Strawberry jam with a strawberry fabric cover or traditional gingham or any of our other lovely summery fabrics.

If you are tempted to make fabric covers you will need some elastic to enable the fabric to gather up around the top of the jar or bowl. We have a variety of widths and types of elastic in white and black.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
We still have some stash builder packs and fat 1/4 packs at discounted prices. The stash builders contain a variety of fabrics, trims, buttons and threads that all coordinate making it easy to create a whole project of your choice. The fat 1/4 packs are themed and coordinated to ease the choice of matching online.
