The Sun has got his hat on, oh no, wait he's taken it off again.....

There's a reason for the phrase April Showers. Anyone else had gorgeously scorching days/hours of sun when the shorts made a brief appearance only to be replaced by clouds and rain and a piercing wind that bites through to the bone? I did a little research on the Met Office website as to why April can be so unsettled.

April is a month caught between seasons in the transition from winter to summer. Days lengthen and the sun is higher in the sky so surfaces to warm more readily during daylight hours. However, cold air can move in from the North while milder air moves in from the South. This contrast creates unsettled weather with a mix of sunshine, showers, brisk winds and, on cold snaps, all in one day sometimes. So now you know!

Of course the full saying is April Showers bring May Flowers. So this week we are looking at all things floral and to accompany them we are also showcasing more of our blender fabrics. Last week many of you liked the Toolbox Basics which has inspired us to share our other ranges that are so useful when creating a selection to work with. The likes of Kaffe Fassett mixes prints of all descriptions and colours, creating stunning quilts, yet many of us like to break up a design with a less patterned fabric. Solids can be a little too plain for some makes so that is when these self coloured textured prints come into their own.

For this week we are offering 10% off all products mentioned in the newsletter. There is a coupon at checkout, Newsletter10 for you to click on to apply the discount. We are also happy to see many of you this week at our pop up shop on Tuesday. For anyone able to attend we have a special offer for you too. All fat 1/4s are just £3 on the day. These include Tilda, Kaffe, Linen and Lynette Anderson amongst others.

Let us know if we can help you choose products or make up kits for a specific project. We work part time but will always answer a call or email whenever and as soon as we can. We hope to see you at one of our pop up events soon.
With our Very Best wishes

The glorious kits from Amy Butcher at Beaks and Bobbins always fill us with delight. Each kit contains a printed background, full instructions and stitch guide, embroidery threads, needles and beads and sequins as needed. Some customers have made a gallery of their makes as they do look glorious all together. Some simply display them in a box frame and others incorporate them into a cushion or wall hanging bordered with other fabrics and displayed on the Garden Wire Hanger below.
More gorgeous embroidery kits, this time from Hannah Burbury. Available as a felt heart or a hoop, each comes pre printed and contains full colour instructions and includes the needle and threads to complete the project, plus a wooden hoop where needed.

Starting today, Saturday April 11th, there is a memorial exhibition of the work of Jane Hawkins. A prolific textile artist. It will be amazing to see all her work gathered in one place at Carnon Downs Bowling Club. Entry by charity donation. The exhibition runs until Thursday 16th April.
