Hares and Tortoises ....
Slow and Steady wins the race. Well, not if you are Usain Bolt of course, but the sentiments of the fable of the tortoise and the hare ring true for many of us. Quilt making is definitely not usually a speedy process but the slow end result is fabulous. Stitched with love, intention and attention.
|
Anni Downs has imbued this sense of slowly does it in her new range Slow and Steady based on the tale of the rushing hare and the plodding tortoise. A delightful collection of soft spring hues in green, blue, cream, pink and mauve. There are ditsy florals, leaping hares and running stitches. An absolutely gorgeous panel in two colourways as well as a pre printed stitchery panel with the most beautiful of designs. There are also two new quilt patterns to accompany the range as well as a free cot quilt pattern that uses the colour printed fabric panel for the centre. We have made up kits for Slow and Steady and Around the Mulberry Bush that have all you need for the top and binding of the quilts.
|
We luckily secured some more patterns and wool packs for A Day in Happyland. With the soft wool applique, stitchery additions and a beautiful scalloped border it is a very pretty quilt. We have seen some of the finished quilts made by our local customers and they are stunning. We have complete kits that include the pattern, linen background, check border and wool packs. There is also another new pattern, Blissful, for a pretty applique needlebook and pincushion.
|
We still have a whopping 30% off all flannel and fleece fabric. Just click on the code FleFlan30 at the checkout or mention it to us on the phone or via email. This means the polar fleece drops from £10.95 to £7.66 per metre. The flannels go from £4.50 a long or fat 1/4 to just £3.15, the equivalent of £18 m to £12.60 metre, while stocks last!
|
Being a small business with just two staff we value each interaction with our customers. As a special thank you for your loyalty we would like to give three lucky winners a gift of a Blackbird and Bloom Stick and Stitch pack. Value of £9.25 each. Simply send us via email a little rhyme or short poem about mums in general, your mum or being a mum, in celebration of Mothers Day this weekend. The winners will be chosen on Friday 20th March. With permission we will share the winning poems in our next newsletter.

We couldn't help but fall in love with this fabric range before it arrived and now it is here we almost didn't want to add it to the newsletter so we could keep it for ourselves! It is super cute and perfect for all ages, from babies to adults. Available as individual fat 1/4s and bundles and also by the long 1/4 for continuous lengths. There is a limited supply left but we ensured that we had enough to make up fabric packs for the two new quilt patterns - Around the Mulberry Bush and Slow and Steady.

Slow and Steady. Definitely a slow stitch project but oh my goodness what a result.

The pre printed stitchery panel below is filled with fun designs that can be used to create individual projects, wall hangings, cushions, bags etc but is also used in the Slow and Steady quilt above.

The two printed panels are so pretty and are available in cream or light sage. Each panel comes with a free pattern to make a cot quilt by simply adding borders to the panel and quilting. In this case more of a quick make than slow and steady but still beautiful. With a fleece backing this would be a super snuggly quilt.

Our polar fleece is anti-pil and is super soft. It makes a great backing for a quilt and there is no need to also have wadding, simply layer it with your quilt top and stitch. With the code FleFlan30 this is now £7.66 per metre.
