Summer or Autumn?.....
A warm welcome to this weeks newsletter. Did anyone else wake up the past few days wondering if it was still Summer or if we had already tipped over into Autumn? I'm pretty sure there was a glimmer of frost on the grass this morning, yet here I am in a summer dress and flip flops!
We are changing displays in the shop to reflect the seasonal changes. The pinks, reds and aqua of My Summer House by Bunny Hill are being moved aside for the warm tones of Autumn in russets, red, gold and browns. Apples, pumpkins, squash and falling leaves. Although outside is still green and full of life you can just sense the changes coming soon. Not before I've picked several more tubs of blackberries to stock up my freezer though!
As if coping with Summer and autumn being present at the same time is not enough, we have just received more Christmas fabric, along with Spring blues from Lynette Anderson in her re-envisioned Something Borrowed, Something Blue 2. We really do have all 4 seasons in 1 day at Coast and Country.
We have been looking at Autumn patterns and have made up new kits for some of the Tilda patterns that use their Creating Memories fabrics. We have fabric packs for stuffed pumpkins, apples and squash and are looking at more to make. Let us know if there's a kit you would like us to make for you for one of the patterns.
As always we hope you have a fabulous week ahead filled with happiness and sewing.
We look forward to helping you with all things sewing related, and having a chat too!

Lynette Anderson has created Something Borrowed, Something Blue 2 by re-colouring the original range of the same name. This was such a popular collection and this refresh is very pretty. It's great to have more of Lynettes blues to enable us to make up more fabric packs for her delightful patterns.
We have an order of more buttons and patterns on their way so if you see a pattern that you'd like and it's out of stock, join the waitlist and we will let you know when everything arrives.

We all adore the Autumn range in the Creating Memories collection and love the stuffed pumpkins and butternut squash made using the fabrics.
We have put together fabric packs for these so you can make a collection for your home as decorations, used as giant pincushions or to gift to family and friends.

We are yet to make kits for the other patterns using the Tilda fabric so which do you think we should start with? Pumpkin or Squirrel quilt or cushions, or the Maple Leaf quilt?
These Tilda Apples and Apple cushions are made using the Winter collection but Autumn is Harvest time for apples so we think they are good to make now to celebrate the bounty all around us.

Tumbling leaves, plump pumpkins and juicy apples sum up the nature of this time of year. Then add in the fun of Halloween and we get ghosts, witches and bats.
For our younger customers or those who make for the youngsters in your life, we have cheerful Halloween fabrics to make outfits, bunting or Trick or Treat buckets. We even have a party panel to make a bat garland, witches hat table topper, pumpkin, table decorations and masks etc.

Gail Pan has lots of Autumnal Inspiration including Table Runners and quilts. We love the Provence quilt in rich reds and ochres and Berries and Bluebirds. As long as the birds leave some blackberries for me!
House on the Hill has In the Garden wall hanging with a wooden doll centre. The Birdhouse has Saltbox Farm and Harvest Time. All three use faded Autumn hues.

The queen of pieced fun quilts is Liz Hartman and we love her Fancy Fox. Almost as much as we love the Pumpkin Bag from Love from Beth.

Kathy Schmitz has all four seasons in her Sampler set. We've all made one for the shop and loved stitching them. We are also inspired by her books - Stitches from the Harvest and Simply Sweet.

We have several seasonal books including a foraging series of books, Never Mind the Burdocks, written and illustrated by our very own Emma Gunn who works in the shop and is sister to our Sally.
There are also stitchery and sewing books filled with seasonal projects.

We have a colleague busy making the new Woodland Garland from Corinne Lapierre and we still have some of the Autumn buttons from Tilda and The Bee Company although they are disappearing quickly.

Just a couple of fabrics in this range from RJR Studios, but they are super cute and coordinate with other ranges.
