Christmas is coming......
I know, I know, it is only August. We have had some incredibly hot and sunny days, along with some very wet ones, but time is flying by and we do need to get prepared. How many of us end up stitching last minute to finish a Christmas gift or decoration? Yep, I am guilty as charged. I have even been sewing on Christmas morning to get something completed but don't tell anyone else!
|
To get you ahead of the game we will be sending you a couple of Festive Themed newsletters to get the Seasonal inspiration flowing. We have already received several new festive patterns and Christmas fabric ranges with more to arrive in the next few weeks. All of us have been busy cutting the fabric, making up bundles and fabric packs with more being completed daily.
|
A fabric pack helps to take the pressure off you having to choose what might be suitable. It can be tricky trying to match colours on a screen whereas we have them right in front of us and can see what best fits, making changes until we get the perfect combination, leaving you free to start sewing immediately. Once you have drooled and stroked it that is!
|
We have been lucky enough to secure more of the inaugural Aurifil Thread Advent Calendars. Filled with 24 small spools of cotton thread in varying weights, we are excited to receive these in November. They promise to be a real delight for anyone lucky enough to have one. Full details below.
|
Whatever this week has in store for you, we hope you have time for yourself to do what you love. We look forward to helping you with all your sewing needs, either in the shop, online or on the phone. Best wishes Sally & the girls

NEW IN - Take a look at this traditional yet modern range from 3 Sisters. Rich reds and greens combined with script, holly, poinsettias and snowflakes create a magical combination. In our bundles we have combined the fat 1/4s and fat 1/8s with some of the Tilda Creating Memories Winter range. A good match that brings out the best of both.

This range would look great used in the Gail Pan Christmas quilts and projects below.

We all love a Christmas tree and many of our festive patterns feature one or more. Favourites of ours are the raggedy tree and the Vintage Memories wall hangings that use up scraps and snippets of lace and trims to make simple yet effective decorations.

We also have trees featured in our Christmas buttons and kits. Click on the photo below to look at our selection.

Kathi Campbell of Heart to Hand designs creates naive folk style patterns that are ideal for making with wool, woolfelt, flannels and cottons. These are smaller makes but satisfying to sew.

Anne Sutton of Bunny Hill designs makes fun cheerful Christmas patterns that often include snowman, snow angels and Christmas mice. We have patterns from her for quick little makes and wall hangings as well as the larger quilts.

Our selection of wooden buttons provide not only finishing touches for seasonal projects but they are stunning enough to use as stand alone pieces. Simply use the design on the background as ideas for applique or stitching and create Winter bunting, pictures or even special Christmas cards. The trees and houses are 3D items that can grouped together to create a Winter Village, add some twinkly lights for extra magic.
