Oh I do Like to be Beside the Seaside

Hello and how are you doing this week? We have enjoyed some beautiful days of sun down in Cornwall. What a difference it makes to wake up and see the beautiful bright skies, and feel the warmth on our skin, after so much rain these past few months. Of course this combination of rain and sun has meant there has been a vast growth spurt in gardens to keep us all busy. I hope, like us, that you have still found time to sew too.

On the hottest day this week we were busy cutting all the new Christmas fabrics that have started arriving already. We showcase one range below and we will do a special Christmas in July newsletter soon to show more. The Down Tinsel Lane range from Anni Downs of Hatched and Patched is beautiful. The queen of quirky and muted prints is on form with this collection. There are patterns to follow and we will make up kits but we had to give you a sneak peak now!

Enough of Christmas, for the moment. This is the time for boats and beaches! One of the many wonderful things about living and working in Cornwall is that we are surrounded by the coastline and sea. With over 400 miles of coastline, we are never far away from a beach for the chance to paddle our feet or embrace the fresh waters of the Atlantic or English Channel, whether swimming or sailing. No wonder we have a large stock of all things sea related at Coast and Country.

At the time of writing there are still a few of the inaugural Aurifil Thread Advent Calendars available. Filled with 24 small spools of cotton thread in varying weights, we are excited to receive these in November. They promise to be a real delight for anyone lucky enough to have one. Full details below.

Whatever you are doing, swimming, sailing, paddling or playing in a garden, may your week be full of sunshine and sewing.

Have fun and we look forward to helping you with all your sewing needs, either in the shop, online or on the phone.
Best wishes

This new Christmas range, Down Tinsel Lane, ( try as I might I can't stop saying this in a broad Cornish accent, think Demelza Poldark or Doc Martin characters)! is sure to be a firm favourite. Gentle faded reds, blues, greens, browns and cream with baubles, berries and festive characters.
There are 5 new patterns designed for this new range that are on their way from Australia. Add your name to the waitlist for the ones you would like and we will let you know just as soon as they arrive.
