Beach, Garden, Sew, Picnic

Hello to all of our lovely customers. We hear the fine weather is due again so we are thinking about the great outdoors this week. Making quilts to take to the beach, in the garden or on picnics. Bunting to decorate indoors and outdoors and handy items to take with you or as gifts for outdoor loving friends.

Straight out of the boxes and on the cutting table this week is the new mini range from Liberty Fabrics - Heirloom 4. A blue, pink and rich red palette of florals full of the essence of an English cottage garden. Bringing the great outdoors indoors! We also received more of the Pre-printed stitchery panels from The Birdhouse and Anni Downs.

We have had a new supply of polar fleece which makes a quick, inexpensive and snuggly backing for a quilt. Perfect to cuddle under while sipping a drink in the garden in the evening or taking to sit on when out and about.

A new book has snuck in to the shop. How did that happen? Hehe. Rainbow Scraps from Edyta Sitar is a truly inspiring collection of colourful quilts utilising the Colour Wheel and suitable for all levels of expertise. We also have a few spare copies of the delightful Inspirations Magazine filled with projects.

Have a great weekend and week ahead.
We look forward to helping you with all your sewing needs and seeing you in the shop, or chatting on the phone or online.
Best wishes

The Heirloom Collection from Liberty Fabrics is a celebration of the quintessential British countryside. Prints feature a confetti scattering of charming floral buds, marguerites dancing in a meadow, and delightful posies of freshly picked blooms. Designed to be mixed and matched with designs from the Liberty Timeless Editions – Emily Belle, Wiltshire Shadow, Snowdrop Spot and Lasenby Silhouette. The collection is traditionally screen printed on to soft Lasenby cotton at Liberty’s print mill in Italy
We have more stock of the popular stitchery panels. These are great for sitting in the garden to sew as all you need is needle and thread, and if you prefer, some stitchery stabiliser on the back to make it easier and neater, and away you go. We love the Sunny days bunting panel with its rounded penants and we also sell it as a kit.
These bunting panels are pre-printed, so all you have to do is cut them out & sew. To make the bunting as long as possible you could use a backing fabric & we sell many different colours of bunting tape too.
These vibrant and fun panels by well known textile artist, Delphine Brooks, are so jolly. You can definitely bring the outdoors in with these cheery offerings. Each panel comes with the background image, full instructions plus digitally printed fabrics to applique in place to replicate her work.
We have a wide range of polar fleece that makes for a very soft and cosy quilt backing especially for children’s quilts and picnic blankets. One of our customers even went more simple than that and appliquéd shapes and initials into the corner of a piece of fleece, and either added a binding or blanket stitched around the edges and made personalised blankets for her family.
