A fabric florist shop

Hello. How are you today? Anyone else still confused with the clocks going forward and the Bank Holidays? Despite the confusion, and yet more rain, we have all been quite cheery. We are feeling blessed after we welcomed back two of our regular groups this week, bringing a huge lifting of spirits to staff and customers alike. It was joyous to see old friends and new sitting together to sew and chat. There are still a few spaces on groups if you feel this is something you'd like to do. Please contact us to book.

Our new arrivals have made us feel like we are selling bouquets of spring flowers as box after box has arrived filled with beautiful floral fabrics, and kits. As we have cut each fat 1/4 and panel we can't help but smile and feel filled with little rays of sunshine.

So what is in the boxes? We have had deliveries from Alice Caroline containing new bolts of Liberty Tana Lawn and some new Tana Lawn kits. These have increased our stock of silky cotton Liberty Lawn to 15 different designs. We still also have our Quilting weight Liberty cottons, including the latest Garden Party & York Fern ranges, as well as extra wide backing fabrics as well.

In another delivery were the brand new Flower Collection applique panels from Delphine Brooks in collaboration with Lewis and Irene. You may know the applique work of Delphine. Famous for her colourful and quirky designs she has designed these panels to make it easier to recreate her images at home.

We hope this week brings some sunny days outside, but if not then let us keep sewing to create that sunshiny feeling inside.

We look forward to helping you with all your sewing needs and seeing you in the shop, or chatting on the phone or online.
Best wishes

Oh my goodness. We are so in love with the new Liberty Tana Lawns and kits from Alice Caroline. Fresh florals in the softest silky cotton. The kits are really beautiful and we are all debating which one to start first. A gorgeous Mini Sampler Quilt, A Make up and Coin purse kit or a Paper Piecing starter pack. We still have her previous kits and fabrics but they have proven so popular that we just needed to have more.
We have a few other cotton lawn fabrics in stock which are similar to Liberty but not made by them. They are also silky smooth.
We have an extensive and growing range of quilting weight Liberty cotton. An excellent quality Lasenby cotton that is superb to work with. Three designs are also available as extra wide backing fabric.
Delphine Brooks is a textile artist and designer from Warwickshire in the UK. She loves creating designs that incorporate bold colours and patterns. Delphine has collaborated with Lewis and Irene to produce these flower panels. Sunflower, Daisies and Rose. All of the fabric required is printed on each individual panel as well as the main piece to ‘fill’ with the fabric as desired. Comprehensive instructions are also written on each of the panels along with an image showing a suggested finish.
Our regular monthly groups are a fabulous way to meet like minded people in a relaxed space. These are not taught workshops but a great chance to work on your own projects, which many find get cast aside when they don't have the impetus of others around them. Some ladies hand sew, embroider or applique or simply add a binding, where others bring their machines and get other projects underway. There is always a member of staff on hand with advice, plus biscuits, coffee and tea, and, with a shared hobby, friendships quickly form. We promise everyone is well behaved and house trained! Groups meet on various days throughout the month just call us to book.
