Coast & Country Crafts and Quilts Newsletter
|
|
Phew!
Hello once more. We are pleased to chat with you again. Time to take a breather for you while you peruse this newsletter, and us to pause after the changes in the shop and the annual stock take. Whomever thought that a stock take in an Aladdin's cave filled with fat 1/4s, patterns, kits, buttons, threads and sewing paraphernalia was a good idea? As you can imagine this week or so has been a little chaotic with the swapping and changing and then trying to count every skein of DMC thread and thimble, long 1/4 and pin box. Thankfully everyone has stepped up and we have actually sailed through what is often a very protracted ordeal.
|
So with the idea of sailing through the stock take and seeing more boats being put back on the water, ready for the Easter holidays, this week we are taking a quick look at all things sailing and boat related. Sorry for shoe horning the theme but all this counting has sent us a little crazy!
|
No big deliveries of fabric collections this week but we have had a box of books and patterns from Natalie Bird of The Birdhouse. We have been waiting for this for weeks due to shipping and customs delays but are so happy to tell you that the brand new Owl and Hare patterns are in stock. This was the BOM (block of the month), that was so popular in the Homespun magazine last year that many customers were unable to join. Now is their or your, chance. Of course there were plenty of other delightful patterns from her too.

Happy sewing and have a joyous week.

We are always on hand to help you with all your sewing needs, either in the shop, online or on the phone. Best wishes Sally & the girls

So many customers have already made or started this gorgeous quilt and it is so beautiful up close. A delicious blend of stitchery, applique, paper piecing and machine piecing. We have the patterns plus backing and border fabrics, pre printed stitchery panels, DMC thread packs, paper and acrylic templates ( just waiting for these to arrive so pop your name on the waitlist and we will contact you as soon as they are in stock). We have no more of the original fabric packs but will be making more in an alternative selection. The original was made using lots of the Blume and Grow range and we still have some in stock if you want to make your own selection.

We have two other new patterns from Natalie Bird as well as a restock of other books and patterns and BOMs. Here are some of our favourites.

NEW Happy Song Pouch makes a cute little bag to carry a phone or pair of glasses or sunglasses. Love Brings You Home cushion is a long bolster style cushion with a pretty row of houses. This would look really pretty in Liberty or Tilda prints on our Sligo linen.

Living near the sea gives us a penchant for all things nautical. We have many fabrics that reflect this, featuring yachts, boats, lighthouses, fish and beach huts. As Spring starts to offer more promise of warmth and longer days, it's a great time to think of a project that brings the seaside home.

We may not all own a yacht or even a small dinghy, but we can bring the sea to us.

Down Beside the Seaside is a lovely wall hanging pattern by Janet Clare. A pretty way to use scraps. Ship to Shore by Clare Turpin is a fun quilt with boats bobbing above fish and a submarine. Boat Day is a flotilla of yachts in fresh summery colours.
