A Noah's Ark of patterns and fabric

Well what a frosty and cold week we have had here in Cornwall, with some areas even having an odd flurry of snow. We know some of the country have had very cold snaps with treacherous icy conditions so we hope that this means you are all safely ensconced at home busy sewing. Luckily there has been less rain and plenty of sunshine here which has brought smiles to our faces. We hope you are all keeping warm too under your home made quilts.

This week we take a look at the animal kingdom. We have several ranges of fabric and patterns that are animal related. All things furry or feathered and even scaly! Elizabeth Hartman is well known for her animal quilt patterns including Funky Llamas, dachshunds and whales. Lynette Anderson has lots of patterns that include her beloved cats, dogs and horses, and she even has a fabric range dedicated to her pets, Good Boy and Kitty.

We have plentiful panels that are printed with animal designs. Some for quilts and some for soft toys. There are also various kits to make animal themed decor or toys including felt kits from Corinne Lapierre, lino printed panels and kits from Louise Nichols and patterns galore from our top designers.

We wish you cosy days and nights of sewing and are always happy to help you with any sewing related queries or needs. Have a wonderful week.
Best wishes

Elizabeth Hartman

Despite looking intricate, the patterns of Elizabeth Hartman are designed so that
everything is made from square and rectangular pieces sewn together using conventional patchwork techniques. No templates or paper piecing! Each pattern comes with instructions to make the quilts in several sizes too.

Lynette Anderson patterns

Such a menagerie of animal designs to choose from with Lynette Anderson patterns. Foxes, cats, dogs, hens, horses and butterflies included. We have made up fabric packs for a lot of her patterns but are always happy to make up more.
Fur Babies at Play Table runner, Flower Power Puppy Pillow and Happy Family Table Runner are all perfect to be made using the Good Boy and Kitty fabric range.

Good Boy and Kitty fabric range

Look at these cute kitties and dogs in the soft colours and tones typical of Lynette Anderson. Warm blues, lavender, green and cream with ditsy flowers, paw prints and colourful characters.

Tilda Patterns and Kits

Tilda have some gorgeous animal toy patterns that we have made up kits for.

Hatched & Patched Patterns

Cuddly Bippity and Bruce bunnies, lovely felt pincushions and pencil cases.

Bunnyhill Designs patterns

Soft toys and lovely quilts including foxes, mice, owls and dogs.

Cat and Dog fabrics

All of us at the shop seem to be fur baby parents now so we have been increasing our range of dog and cat themed fabrics. The Dog Daze and Here Kitty Kitty ranges are particularly lovely with the paw prints and both have accompanying patterns Dog Daze and Purrfection. Plus two panels to make soft toys - cats or dogs. The panels are printed with instructions and each panel makes two toys with clothes.

Animal Panels

Panels are a way to make a quick and cosy quilt or playmat or they can be cut into smaller pieces for cushions, pillows, bags or placemats etc.

Corinne Lapierre Kits

These kits are perfect as kits or to make yourself. With all you need except a pair of scissors they are portable to take to classes or on the go.

Louise Nichols kits

Louise lives not far from the shop and we have been lucky to have her teach with us, with more workshops planned including Floral Embellished Pouches in February
and Swim Little Fishes in April.
Some of her kits come complete with felts and threads and embellishments, others are panels only for you to use your own bits and pieces.

Doll and Toy making books

Luna Lapin books have been popular for several years and we have fabric kits made up for some of the characters and all the woolfelts needed for each one. Needle Felting is a magical craft. Seeing the wool fibres change from soft fluffy strands into solid detailed creatures with nothing more than a special felting needle. No sewing involved except for bead eyes of used. Rose Minuscule is a book filled with cute characters with fabulous outfits.
