Join Our Mini Charm Challenge & Love of Pre-cuts!

To start us off this week we are introducing our Mini Charm Challenge. We just love mini charms & think the 2 1/2" squares should be celebrated so we're setting you a Mini Charm Challenge for the summer. If you'd like to join in, and have a chance to win a £25 shop voucher, full details are below.

New in this week is Bonheur de Jour, the latest collection from French General. It is the fabric range used in the latest Block of the Month in Homespun magazine. It's a beautiful blend of their trademark French style faded red designs.

Also new is a kit that we have lovingly put together to make Spoondrift by Janet Clare. It uses her latest fabric range To The Sea. Plus we have the latest issue of Tilda Lover's Club to make a useful trio of fabric caddies.

Please take great care in this heat, and as always,
Happy Stitching
Best wishes
Sally & the girls

Do you love pre-cuts? We think they are fantastic! With Pre-cuts you can get right on with the best bit of patchwork - the planning and sewing- all the cutting is done for you and so accurately.
Layer cakes can make a great quick quilt, charm packs are perfect for a baby quilt, play mat , lap quilt or bag. Jelly rolls have books and patterns devoted to them so that you can whip up a quilt in a weekend.
But have you tried the mini charm packs? They still have all the range of fabrics in there but these little 2 1/2" squares are amazing value, just right for gifts, treats and perfect for those smaller projects.
So guess what..... to give you a chance to play and win prizes we are launching the Mini Quilt Challenge!

All you have to do is complete a project this summer using a mini charm pack of your choice. Add extra fabric if you like and then send us a clear photo with your name, address and telephone number or email address. Also tell us the name of the mini charm pack used. That's all there is to it!!!! There are two categories, Christmas or Everyday. We have lots of mini charms to choose from & many are in the sale.

The closing date is Friday September 9th 2022. There will be 2 winners, one for each category - one £25 gift voucher for the everyday mini charm project category & one £25 gift voucher for the Christmas project category, and all entrants will receive a discount voucher. We just ask that you make something new for this challenge, & if you use someone else's pattern, please credit the designer. Good Luck!!!

These details will be available on our Blog if you need to refer to them again.

Spoondrift Quilt Kit

This delightful fabric pack is to make the top of the Spoondrift Quilt by Janet Clare.

It is put together using the To The Sea fabric from Janet Clare, and is made up according to the list of requirements in the Spoondrift Book.

The original quilt was made in Ebb & Flow but Janet has redone the list of requirements for the book using the new range. The designs are in Janet Clare’s familiar blues, creams and sands with fish, schooners, kittiwakes and shells. We cannot wait to see this made up.

Bonheur de Jour

Bonheur de Jour is a classic collection by French General. Floral prints, antique block-prints and a handful of their favorites from Rouenneries. All of the French General colours come together here with their deep red, faded red and pearl, including a fresh, new darker grey mixed in.

This range is used in the latest Homespun magazine Block of the Month. Details below.

Also new in are a wider selection of French General texture solids in hues of rose, lavender, indigo, woad and stone.

The designers behind French General, Kaari and JZ have an interesting back story as creatives. If you'd like to know more about them and what has inspired them look here.

All of us at Coast and Country get inspired by our fabrics and like to come up with new ideas to use them. Or make our own versions of a designer's pattern. Mini Charms are an ideal way to showcase a whole range of fabric without taking up lots of time, expense or room. Look at these beautiful samples and links to their mini charms or a similar range if the original is no longer available.
