Coast & Country Crafts and Quilts Newsletter

Hoping you are well -
Good day. How are you this week? Although there has been some very heavy rain, we know that May will bring plenty of lush flowers and dynamic colours because of the damp now. Even when things look bad in the present moment, with grey skies, there are always brighter days ahead.
We all enjoyed family time and a breather over the Easter weekend and hope that you did too. We came back to work with lots of orders to fill and lots of gorgeous visitors to welcome into the shop. It has been so good to see everyone, and we'd like to thank you all for your patience when there have been queues at the till, items out of stock, or we have taken a little longer to pick, pack and post orders. We are overwhelmed with the messages of support and all the positive thoughts for a buyer for the shop.
We are selling out of some items as they will not be reordered, but the basics will be coming in as usual over the next few weeks. We have plain linen and wadding on order, we just won't be adding new ranges or doing a full restock until we know if a buyer is secured. Christmas fabrics still have 30% off and all non sale products have 15% off across the store.
We have also added more items to our sale categories. The patterned linens are no longer available to order from our suppliers and are now as low as £3 a fat 1/4 or a bargain £12 a metre. More of our quilting weight cotton fabrics are now just £10 metre/ £2.50 fat 1/4. These include some Lynette Anderson fabrics, some children's and nautical ranges and others. We have also made up colour themed Batik fat 1/4 favourites packs using the batiks we have in the shop that are not currently available online. We also have Childrens Fat 1/4 favourites packs. These fat 1/4 packs are a great and economical way of building stash and are colour coordinated for you so you know that they will look good together.
We thank you for your patience both in person and online as we process the huge volume of orders and visitors that we have been blessed with. There will inevitably be some delays, and stock discrepancies may become apparent as things are being bought and sold more quickly both in the shop and online.
We look forward to continuing to help you with everything sewing related both online and in person for as long as we can. Thank you for all your support. You have helped us thrive and kept us all busy and enjoying our job. We count you all as our friends.

There are still places left on these two gorgeous workshops. These are the last we will run with Sally at the helm so let's see them filled up.

Above are beautiful textile hearts made by Caroline Michelle. You can make your very own with her on a new date 28th May. Grab the last couple of places and give yourself some love to take home. You need to have some experience of free motion embroidery for this but Caroline can help to refresh rusty skills and is a well loved tutor.
Below is the work of Claire Houghton, who returns to us on May 22nd with her Coastal Flowers workshop. Last time this workshop was so beautiful with each attendee leaving with a finished and framed textile picture. You will learn ways of adding texture and depth to a picture using machine and hand stitching and heat!

I, Michelle, thank you for all those who have reached out to me to continue being in contact. These last few weeks have been crazy and I want to spend time connecting with each of you personally not just through a bulk email so keep an eye out as I will be in touch soon. I will of course continue to write shop newsletters until needed. If you would like to stay in contact after that, I will be setting up my own newsletter account with many things sewing related and otherwise, with in person and online offerings as well. I am planning a road trip so you may just see me somewhere too! More details to follow in subsequent shop newsletters for anyone interested or email me initially at heartfeltcircle22@gmail.com

Working with Sally and spending my days among gorgeous fabrics and accessories has been a dream come true. Sadly it's now time for pastures new and I will greatly miss the shop, its delights and the love, laughter and friendship of colleagues and customers both locally and online. Solving problems and creating wonderful creations has been an utter joy to me. I will miss it all. Meanwhile I hope to continue to develop new designs and ideas and maybe share them with groups or individuals. If you would like to keep in touch with me, you can contact me on smvague@gmail.com, follow vaguemary on instagram.or pop in the shop, I will have my tissues ready!

Maria, who's been organising our workshops, will also be continuing to put on workshops & sewing groups at venues in Cornwall (venues to be confirmed). You'll be able to catch up with some of the Coast & Country girls there, who are all keen to keep meeting up to see each other, as well as our lovely local sewing ladies, to sew for pleasure. If you'd like to keep up to date with these, please email Maria at: creativecworkshops@gmail.com
