A weekend of bargains
Good morning and welcome to your weekend. What a busy week we have had, and what a pleasure it has been to see so many of you popping in or calling us. Apologies if we couldn't get to you as quickly as we would like, but we know that you all appreciate that we are doing our very best in extenuating circumstances. We have had some interested in the shop being sold going forward, but are waiting to see what transpires. In the meantime, thank you for all the beautiful messages and hugs, as we all negotiate the changes.
|
We are continuing to sell off our stock to streamline the shop. This weekend we have several offers available to you. These are updated since our little email on Wednesday. We have now discounted all Lynette Anderson fabrics by a large 30% and all her patterns by 20%. Plus the dress making patterns are now discounted by 30%. These offers are running until midnight on Tuesday night. We have an ongoing discount on Christmas fabrics which all now have at least 25-30% off. There is no need to click on a discount code for these offers, the prices are already reduced for you. There is still a 15% discount code for all non sale items. Just add it to your basket at the checkout and we will apply all discounts at the till in the shop. If you see something online that is out of stock, we may still have some in the physical shop, especially fat 1/4s, we just might not have had time to cut more at present so drop us a line and we will get to you as soon as we can.
|
There are still two workshops booked for the coming weeks and a few places left on each. One with Caroline Michelle on April 30th, and then another chance to sew with Claire Houghton on May 22nd. Our regular groups are still meeting and will continue until we close or sell, and plans are afoot for them to continue afterwards too. A quick note is that May's Sit N Sew with Fi is postponed by a week from the 7th to May 14th. Full details below.

With the shop closed yesterday, Friday, and again on Monday, we may have some delays in sending post over the Easter break, but we will do whatever we can to get things processed quickly and efficiently. Please bear in mind that the post office themselves will have delays on their side too. We thank you for your patience both in person and online as we process the huge volume of orders and visitors that we have been blessed with. There will inevitably be some delays, and stock discrepancies may become apparent as things are being bought and sold more quickly both in the shop and online.
|
We look forward to continuing to help you with everything sewing related both online and in person for as long as we can. Thank you for all your support. You have helped us thrive and kept us all busy and enjoying our job. We count you all as our friends.

We have stocked Lynette Anderson since the very start of Coast and Country. She has been to visit us a few times as well. Lynette is known for her quirky designs that often feature her beloved animals and flowers. She was originally from the UK but now lives in Australia and although has slowed down in recent years, still has a large array of fabric designs and patterns. We have a massive 30% discount off all her fabrics this weekend until Tuesday 22nd at midnight.

From hens to dogs, cats to flying santas, snowmen and reindeer, Lynette's patterns have a naive and fun element to them. The patterns have 20% off until Tuesday night.

Lynette often uses hand painted wooden buttons in her patterns. They give an extra finishing touch and are beautifully made. They are not washable so strictly for decorative items or those you don't mind removing them from if a wash is needed. These are not discounted but the 15% offer applies when added at checkout.

Although not primarily a dress making pattern stockist, we do have a lovely selection of patterns and fabrics that can be used for clothes making. We have patterns for all figures from the slender to the more voluptuous, dungarees, trousers and dresses. All these patterns have 30% off until Tuesday night.

What a beautiful selection of festive fabric we have in the shop. From the cute Cosy Wonderland to the sparkly Kona Sheens. We know Christmas is a long way away but it is good to be prepared, especially when the ranges all have at least 30% off making some of the fat 1/4s just £2.80 or £11.20 per metre.

Above are beautiful textile hearts made by Caroline Michelle. You can make your very own with her on April 30th. Grab the last couple of places and give yourself some love to take home. You need to have some experience of free motion embroidery for this but Caroline can help to refresh rusty skills and is a well loved tutor.
|
Below is the work of Claire Houghton, who returns to us on May 22nd with her Coastal Flowers workshop. Last time this workshop was so beautiful with each attendee leaving with a finished and framed textile picture. You will learn ways of adding texture and depth to a picture using machine and hand stitching and heat!

I, Michelle, thank you for all those who have reached out to me to continue being in contact. These last few weeks have been crazy and I want to spend time connecting with each of you personally not just through a bulk email so keep an eye out as I will be in touch soon. I will of course continue to write shop newsletters until needed. If you would like to stay in contact after that, I will be setting up my own newsletter account with many things sewing related and otherwise, with in person and online offerings as well. I am planning a road trip so you may just see me somewhere too! More details to follow in subsequent shop newsletters for anyone interested or email me initially at heartfeltcircle22@gmail.com

Working with Sally and spending my days among gorgeous fabrics and accessories has been a dream come true. Sadly it's now time for pastures new and I will greatly miss the shop, its delights and the love, laughter and friendship of colleagues and customers both locally and online. Solving problems and creating wonderful creations has been an utter joy to me. I will miss it all. Meanwhile I hope to continue to develop new designs and ideas and maybe share them with groups or individuals. If you would like to keep in touch with me, you can contact me on smvague@gmail.com, follow vaguemary on instagram.or pop in the shop, I will have my tissues ready!

Maria, who's been organising our workshops, will also be continuing to put on workshops & sewing groups at venues in Cornwall (venues to be confirmed). You'll be able to catch up with some of the Coast & Country girls there, who are all keen to keep meeting up to see each other, as well as our lovely local sewing ladies, to sew for pleasure. If you'd like to keep up to date with these, please email Maria at: creativecworkshops@gmail.com

Fi has been hosting monthly Sit n Sew groups and is going to continue to hold a monthly two hour creative gathering; bring your own stitching, knitting, sketching, a place to share inspiration, encouragement and make new creative friends, held in a variety of beautiful local venues. There will also be pop up seasonally inspired making events. You can come along to her final Sit N Sew at Coast and Country on May 14th and contact her for further dates on Sewfi.pullen@outlook.com
