Something to lift your spirits -
Good day. As I sit writing, I am looking out on a dreary day, so it cheers me to say that we have a gift to bring a little brightness into your lives. If you are fed up playing Scrabble and Tiddlywinks on wet afternoons and chilly nights then keep yourself entertained by being creative with sewing and making some savings along the way. This week, from Friday 21st 6pm to Friday 28th 1159pm we have 10% off store wide.
|
This is a good time to grab a project to keep you busy as the days get longer. The weather may be bleak at times during these late winter weeks, but I don't suspect that I am the only one who feels sunshiny when they are sat sewing with gorgeous fabrics and threads. Seeing colour and pattern immediately lifts the spirits. At the checkout click on the voucher code FEBCHEER25 to make sure you take advantage of the 10% discount across the whole shop, (excludes gift vouchers). We will also apply this at the till in the shop of course if you are lucky enough to be able to pop in. Despite the weather outside you will always be met with a cheery hello and a smile, and quite possibly a hug!
|
We have been thinking of other ways to help raise smiles by making cheery treat project packs that are quick makes with a little extra cheer thrown in. There are two to choose from, Spring Treat Basket and A Little Flower Stitchery Project. Sometimes you just want a quick small project to work on and these fit the bill nicely.

Below, you will find pictures of the beautiful Liberty Blocks that we have sent as part of their 150th Birthday Celebrations. We have been so impressed by the detail and design used by all who contributed. How Liberty will manage to choose how to join them all together is anyone's guess. We have a blog post with more details here.
|
May your week ahead be filled with all things beautiful. We look forward to helping you with everything sewing related both online and in person.

Best wishes Sally & the girls

A lovely start to our year has been participating in the Liberty block making as part of their 150th Birthday Celebrations. The photo above shows the blocks that were collected by us and have been delivered to Liberty. We also had many photos sent from people who made their blocks and sent them directly to Liberty. We have some more pics below but please also check out our blog page HERE for more close ups. What a talented bunch of customers we have!

A lot of our customers used English Paper piecing in their blocks. From tiny 1/4" hexagons to larger diamonds and hexagon thirds. Paper piecing is such a travel friendly way of working. All done by hand and easily portable. We have both paper and hexiform templates. The hexiform is a product that is left inside the fabric giving it padding and no paper to remove. We also have acrylic templates that make fussy cutting fabric easy for even greater interest in any project.

June Tailor has several Quilt As You Go Bags to make using Jelly Rolls. They are a quick and easy way to make some beautiful useful bags. The pattern is printed onto the included wadding. The Sophie and Alexandra bags make single holdalls and we also have the Shoppers Totes, which include a firmer polypropylene wadding that is enough to make three bags. All you need is choose your jelly roll and coordinating fabric.

Mary, June and Sally have put a lot of love in to these little packs of prettiness and cheer. Happiness can come in small packages! Both are less than £10 a pack too. Now that is something to give good cheer.
|
The Spring Treat Basket pack above, includes the fabric, two buttons & the One Hour Basket pattern and a little treat....
|
A Little Flower Stitchery Project Pack includes Gail Pan’s project postcard & has enough fabric, thread & trimmings to make two little Flower Stitcheries which can be finished as pincushions, lavender bags or you could even adapt them to make a little wall hanging or notebook cover

This weeks look at Quilting Essentials is our collection of border and block stencils. These are a way to add different quilting designs to any project. Simply trace through the stencil using your preferred marking pen or pencil and machine or hand quilt over the marks for accurate designs. And to make quilting your work easier why not use our Sew Easy Quilting Gloves. With grips on the finger tips it gives added control, less movement and friction and reduced strain on the hands while quilting.
