Be part of history---
Hello once more. We sincerely hope that this newsletter finds you well and not too battered by Storm Darragh last week. We know a lot of people were without power for quite some time. We are relieved that we took the decision to close on Saturday last week, as we arrived at work on Monday to find a large tree had fallen on to the roof! Thankfully there was no damage but we are glad that we were not around when it happened. The noise would have been terrifying if nothing else.

This week we are pleased to announce that we are one of the UK retailers taking part in the celebrations of Liberty's 150th Birthday next year. Liberty will be installing a giant patchwork quilt in their flagship London store. This quilt will be created from squares made by customers like yourself. We will literally be making history by sewing squares that will be included in the quilt. To enable people to take part, Liberty are supplying complimentary fabric packs to all those registered. The full details are below of how to get involved in this exciting collaboration.
As a nod to Liberty we are showcasing their ranges below. We have both Tana Lawn, the silky lightweight fabric loved by many, and also the quilting weight Lasenby cotton. Both fabrics are delightful to work with and both are included in the fabric packs supplied for the 150th anniversary project.
Don't forget that we still have 10% off all festive fabrics between now and Christmas. This includes sale Christmas fabrics, this years festive ranges and Christmas flannels. We also have lots of items suitable as gifts including stocking fillers and larger fabric packs. We have gift vouchers and of course a wishlist facility that you can share with others to point them in the right direction for all your needs!
We look forward to helping you with all your sewing needs, either in the shop, online or on the phone. Best wishes Sally & the girls

Liberty have been synonymous with beautiful high quality fabrics for 150 Years. To help them celebrate such a momentous achievement they are asking every Liberty fabric lover to contribute a 25cm patchwork square to be joined with hundreds of others in order to create a supersized quilt to display in their Regency Street Store in London.
We are a collection point for the complimentary fabric packs for customers who've registered with Liberty. Each kit contains 5 pieces of fabric, roughly 45cm x 20cm - these are a mix of Tana Lawn™️ and Lasenby cotton - and a returns slip which will help Liberty to identify each maker. The kits can be used in their entirety or supplemented with your own fabrics.
We will be hosting a Liber-Tea on the morning of Wednesday 15th January. This will be an opportunity for local registered participants to swap ideas, maybe fabrics, and get started on your block or share your progress so far. This gives us the chance to inspire each other and share our love of all things Liberty, and of course, drink tea and eat cake or biscuits! Let us know if you would like to join us that day. We ask for a donation of £5 to book your spot and cover costs. Details are HERE
If you would like to take part in the block making please register with Liberty and the Patchwork collective by clicking on the button or image above. This will take you to our blog page with further information and the link to register.

Liberty Tana Lawn is known worldwide for it's superb quality and gorgeous designs. Silky lightweight cotton that handles and drapes beautifully. We have several fabrics in our stock plus Liberty Lawn kits and pre cuts shapes from Alice Caroline. If you are joining in the 150 Year block making for Liberty then maybe you can make your block more individual by using some of the shapes in your design.

Lawn is also the perfect fabric to use for paper pieced and hexiform projects. Hexiform is a way of making English Paper Pieced projects but the shapes can be left in and give a slightly raised padded look.
We have a variety of patterns that use paper piecing techniques, including a pretty Xmas Stocking with a cute mouse. It would be gorgeous made in Liberty Lawn.

Christmas is a good time to look at our Block of the Month (BOM) patterns and kits. They are usually larger projects and by breaking them down into monthly blocks they are more easily achievable and less daunting. We have a large selection of BOMs from Lynette Anderson, Hatched & Patched, The Birdhouse and Leanne Beasley. We make up fabric kits for a lot of them so if you are concerned about choosing coordinating fabrics, we do the work for you. They can be bought as a whole pattern or paid for monthly. The fabrics are bought as a complete set however, unless they contain wool packs which can be purchased monthly as they are already split into monthly packs.

We have a few more charity bags for sale. With the sale of the other bags and the raffle over our birthday week etc we have raised a total of £260 for Children's Hospice Southwest. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this. It is much appreciated. In our sale is now the Aurifil Advent Calendar. It doesn't matter that we are part way through the month, you can still have fun finding what threads are hidden away. 24 spools for £85 making them approximately £3.50 per spool when some usually retail for £7 each.
