Perfect sewing weather
Bbbbbrrrrrrrrrrr. Ooooh it has got chilly this week hasn't it? We haven't succumbed to the snow here yet but woke to a thick layer of frozen hailstones in the garden. We trust that you are all keeping warm and enjoying some sewing time cosied up indoors.

Arriving this week are three brand new patterns from Becky of Willow & Hare. We loved her workshop last month and so many asked for her patterns, because they were unable to attend on the day, that we have stocked up on them. We also have new stock from Corinne Lapierre and Louise Nichols. These make great gifts.

We have been busy clearing shelves in the shop and online stock room as part of a very early spring clean. We realised that our stock has grown massively so a quick stock take and clear out was needed to make the website more manageable for us and our customers. Lots of end of rolls, sale patterns, bargain fat 1/4s and scrap bags are all being added to shop and website stock. links will be available soon. Our fat 1/4 packs make ideal Secret Santa gifts and are available in a wide wide range of themes to suit everyone. Next week we celebrate our shop birthday and will have 10% off store wide plus there will be in store offers, a tombola and a raffle. Full details next week.

Becky was a delightful tutor when she visited us for the day. Her work is inspired and now available as patterns. We have three available. Rosehips mini quilt, Running in the Meadow Notions Purse and Running in the Meadow Needle Case. Becky uses wool in some of her applique but it can be substituted with our woolfelt. We have put together a kit for the Rosehips pattern that includes fabrics and woolfelt.

Louise Nichols has delivered more of her lino printed kits and panels. Some of her kits, shown above, are soon to be discontinued. These include Bookmarks, Swirly Birds, Grey Cat, Ginger Cat and Blue Bird on the Hill. So if any of these take your fancy then this could be your last chance of buying them. Some of her kits will only be available as a panel only and some discontinued completely. Either way, they make nice gifts for others to sew, or sew one to gift to a friend who might be reluctant to sew.

Extra wide backing is super useful for the larger quilts. It saves having to join fabrics to have a backing large enough. We have extra wide fabrics from Kaffe Fasset, Liberty and Lynette Anderson. 15% off at the till and checkout.

Polar fleece makes a soft and snuggly backing for quilts. When you use fleece there is no need to also have wadding and cotton backing so it is a very cost effective way to finish a quilt. It drapes and washes really well. Simply layer with your quilt top using spray glue, pin or tack and quilt as normal. 15% off all fleece this week.
