Sorry for any confusion...
I'd like to start this week by apologising for the blip at the weekend regarding the voucher code. The system decided we had inputted some things incorrectly and was just not happy, even though we had tested it and it had worked perfectly, but apparently only for some things. We hope that everyone was able to use the codes at the checkout once things were rectified. The joys of technology!
This week we are taking a look at the new arrivals plus showcasing some of our upcoming workshops. Spaces are limited and filling fast as there are some amazing classes on offer, including free motion sewing, slow stitching trees and wreath making. Full details below.
The elves are still busy wrapping up the final bits for the Advent Boxes and they will soon be winging their way to everyone. We finished preparing the first batch but have had to get busy making more. Last few available if you are tempted!
We have also received more of the mini quilt patterns from Julia Gahagan. These all sold out within an hour last time and they are a quick make in time for this Christmas for yourself or as a gift.
Don't forget that we have a Wishlist facility on our website so you can add all those delicious patterns, kits and books so that you know what you want to spend any Gift Vouchers on, or pass the list to your family and friends and see what they choose from it. If you look HERE at a previous newsletter you will see how to set up a wishlist.
Whatever this week has in store for you, we hope you have time for yourself to do what you love and to simply sew. It really is the best medicine when you can get creative.
We look forward to helping you with all your sewing needs, either in the shop, online or on the phone. Best wishes Sally & the girls

We have had a delivery from Ashmead designs filled with their fabulous Hexiform products. We now have quite a large range of their Hexiform shapes, plus several of their kits using them, including the new Holly Wreath. Hexiform has proved very popular with both experienced and new English Paper Piecing customers. They love their robustness and accuracy, the fact the shapes can be left in, and that they give a slightly raised look to any project. Available in a wide range of shapes and sizes, as well as a plain sheet to cut your own shapes.

We have received more of the beautiful patterns and hand painted wooden buttons from Jackie Nicholls of House on the Hill in New Zealand. We were waiting for quite some time to see them and are busy making kits for many of them. If you see one that you would like but it is out of stock, pop your name on the waitlist and we will contact you just as soon as they are ready. The patterns include the new Bonheur Heart shown above, plus the ever favourites A Perfect Day, Simply Seaside and Simply Rouge pattern booklets, Life's a Journey, Days in Provence and Vintage Memories.

Hooray! We have more of these glorious new mini quilt patterns from Julia Gahagan. We are in love and so are you. The original stock disappeared within an hour!
Julia uses a technique of shadow appliqué and quilting, where shapes are freely cut, lightly glued to the background and then held in place by being covered with a layer of very fine net/tulle over the top (net is included with the patterns). You can then machine or hand quilt to hold everything in place. It is a really fun and easy technique suitable for all including beginners. Now, which one shall we make first?......

What will tempt you from our selection of upcoming workshops? Will it be festive gifts, decorations, wreath making with foraged foliage, slow hand stitching or the faster free motion machine embroidery and applique? There are classes for beginners and the more experienced. We have some lead by our own staff, plus outside tutors like Cat Rowe, Louise Nicholls and Caroline Michelle. Something for everyone.

We are running low on these gorgeous fabrics, especially the scenic ones, but we still have a few of these Magical Winterland quilt kits available. Each kit contains all the fabric, and the pattern, to make the top and binding of this gorgeous quilt using the Magical Winterland range.
Sally has designed this to showcase the stunning feature fabrics with beautiful winter scenes of trees, people and houses. It is a relatively straightforward quilt to make in time for this Christmas, and in fact is perfect for all winter through not just the few days of Advent. (Confession - I would use it all year round as it is so pretty)!

Finished size is 52" or 1.3m square

We have just heard that the second book from Sue Stichbury will be with us next week. After the success of the original Calico & Stitch book, published by the now defunct Quiltmania, Sue has self published this new edition to continue the story of her Little Ladies. It contains 10 brand new designs and will be posted as soon as it arrives by the end of the week.
