Pick and Mix Week!
This week we have started to feel the chill in the air. The nip of Autumn is with us, but rather than mourn the loss of summer sun, we are embracing the beautiful colours of the tumbling leaves. We can't be the only ones who feel that urge for childhood playfulness and kick through the piles of fallen leaves. The crisp crunch and the myriad of reds, ambers, golds and russets making their own natural patchwork around us.
It is also the time to look ahead to festivities in December, (see how I avoided the C word there). We have lots of workshops filled with inspiring new projects to make for gifts and decorations including fragrant wreaths as well as textile art and presents. There are also two beautiful Advent Boxes to order for yourself or a friend. Each one contains a wonderful selection to make you smile each day leading up to Christmas. There is our very own shop advent box filled with lots of sewing treats and bespoke projects. Plus the Aurifil Advent Box that is filled with 24 spools of their threads. Look below for a special announcement regarding this calendar. It's exciting!
Just arrived we have a new scent in our Best Press range from Mary Ellen, a new issue of Homespun magazine and Tilda Lovers Club plus some discounts on older issues. There are still plenty of discounted fabrics throughout the shop in the Sale and End of Roll sections too.
As always we hope you have a fabulous week ahead filled with happiness and sewing.
We look forward to helping you with all things sewing related, and having a chat too!

The Christmas Gifts workshop on October 24th and the One Day Christmas workshop on November 21st, allow you to choose two patterns to do on the day and take home. There is a tree skirt, wall hangings, hot water bottle covers, wreath, a special bag to carry dishes to a party and a notebook cover. Lots of choices to make for yourself or to gift. The choices are different on both days so come along to both to get more variety.

We are thrilled to announce exciting news regarding the Aurifil Le Alpi Advent Calendars that are due with us any day now. They have been shipped from Italy and we have been informed that five of the boxes sent to Aurifil suppliers, contain a special golden spool. Think Willy Wonka and the Golden Ticket. The people who find a Golden Spool will have a special code to enable them to receive an Aurifil Best Selection box brimming with 45 Small Spools in an elegant fabric case. We would love to think that one, or more, of our customers will be a winner. Fingers crossed for you all.

For the last two years Mary has created outstanding projects for our very own Advent Calendar Boxes and this year promises to be equally amazing. Each box has four brand new projects including the patterns and fabrics, as well as some extra little sewing related treats.
The photo above shows some of the projects from the previous boxes but the sneak peaks we have had for this year are beautiful. These are a limited edition box and over half have sold already. A perfect way to sew in the run up to Christmas to adorn your home, or gift it at Christmas to sew through the darker months of January and February in readiness for next Christmas!

We have a brand new scent in the Best Press Range. Tea rose garden. Like all of the scents, this is a clear, crisp spray with a lovely scent that makes ironing easier. That fold in the fabric vanishes when you use this spray. Best Press is not a starch but a spray to help ironing easier.
We do also have starch and plenty of other equipment and tools that help to make an often arduous task that much more enjoyable. Wool pressing mats have been a revelation for me, portable and effective. Rotary cutting is so much easier than using scissors for patchworking. We have the rotary cutters, blades, mats, rulers and even books to help beginners.
