Kaffe, Scraps and Paper Piecing
I would like to start today by sending apologies to those of you who didn't receive their newsletter on Saturday last week. Their was a system update that meant it only went to under half of our subscribers. Hopefully you all received it on Monday when things were sorted. The team at the shop and the website support team worked over the weekend to make sure we got things back on track so thank you for your patience.

Now, back to what's new this week. We had a large box of the wonderful Hexiform pieces from Ashmead Designs. These have been a big seller for us since we first stocked them giving an extra dimension to paper pieced projects. We also have had some more cheery bundles and fabrics from Kaffe Fassett. Plus a restock of some of the Tilda Creating Memories fabrics, charms and buttons, snapping whatever we could get our hands on!
We still have some places on a couple of upcoming workshops and this week Sally will be at Goosey Quilters Exhibition from Thursday to Saturday in Tavistock Townhall. Our workshops are proving very popular. We really missed having them over the last few years so it's fabulous to see everyone coming together to sew. Some tutors need a few weeks warning if a class is not going ahead because of low numbers, so if you are thinking of coming to one but not yet booked, do get in touch with us so we can ensure the classes are able to run. All workshops are booked by calling or visiting us.
We hope you have a fabulous week and get to have plenty of sewing opportunities.
We look forward to helping you with all things sewing related.

We have a few new fabrics added to our Kaffe selection. Always vibrant and fun, Kaffe Fassett fabrics somehow look amazing together despite the clash of bold patterns and colours. It is magical how they produce such wonderful projects each and every time.

Hexiform is an alternative to paper in English Paper Piecing, that you leave in. Being fabric based it is easier to handle while sewing & it gives the fabric a plump luxurious effect and is also fully washable. We sell pre-cut Hexiform hexagon shapes in several sizes, Hexiform sheets allowing you to cut your own shapes & some lovely Hexiform kits. All our customers who have tried this have loved it.

None of us at the shop like seeing any fabric go to waste so we decided to create scrap bags. They are created from the fabrics that are left from the end of a bolt or residual from cutting a fabric pack. Since we first introduced them they have been flying out of the shop. Our selection has expanded and we have something for everyone. Japanese Wovens, florals, Kaffe, Batik, William Morris, linens, nautical and festive to name a few!
Each bag has approximately a fat 1/4 of fabric in total so gives plenty of scope for different projects. Ideal for applique or paper piecing, or the Hexiform shapes, but also for creating a glorious scrappy quilt. Look below for some creative ideas for scraps.
We also have Moda scrap bags and Ruby Star Society Stash Expansion packs. These are made up of wider strips of fabric left from the machine cut layer cakes.
