Dear Crafters and Quilters,
Below is a selection of workshops and exhibitions, but there's more to come! Our New, purpose built Workshop is now up and running, which is adjacent to our lovely Shop!
There is a variety of workshops, classes & groups for all tastes and abilities, as well as some free in-store demonstrations on various techniques & methods using some of the latest products.

CALENDAR QUILTS AND STITCHERIES by Nancy Halvorsen, BLOCK OF THE MONTH GROUP
We will be making the August block from 10am - 12.30pm, but you can stay & stitch until 2.30pm.
Friday 20th August
FAMILY WORKSHOP - FELT MAKING with Michelle Dickson
10.00am - 12.30pm - Fee £15 per adult/child pair. £6 per additional child
Using very soft dyed Merino wool and special felting needles we will make various items including brooches and hanging decorations. This is a quick and easy way of creating beautiful items. No sewing skills required. This is suitable for all ages although the needles are very sharp so adult supervision of children is advised. Materials included in a starter kit are included in the price of the workshop and further kits will also be available to buy to take home.

PATCHWORK, QUILT AND EMBROIDERY EXHIBITION
10am to 7pm and 22nd August 10am to 6pm St Buryan Parish Church.
Refreshments, sales table and demonstrations.

TASSELLA WORKSHOP – meaning the ancient Roman word for mosaic tile. Fee £25
10am – 3pm - Join Annette Tippett & have fun creating stunning patchwork patterns with 1 ½ inch strips and squares! An ideal workshop to use a June Taylor, Shape Cut Plus ruler.

KERNOW QUILTERS QUILT EXHIBITION
26th-28th August at Mawnan Smith Village Hall, from 10am - 4.30pm
Come along and see the wonderful creations by this very talented group!

ANGEL WORKSHOP with Madeleine Millington Fee £30
10am – 3pm, Appliqué suddenly became colourful, easy and fun with Madeleine Millington.
Join her on this workshop & discover the tactile qualities of wool blanket fabric, using appliqué and simple hand stitching to produce an Angel brimming with character.

Wednesday 8th SEPTEMBER
BEGINNERS COURSE – Fee £100 for 4 one day courses, 10am – 3pm
A SET OF FOUR MONTHLY WORKSHOPS with Gillian Farrell
Course 1. Easy Hand Piecing - where you will learn to make your own templates and use them in a variety of easy hand pieced blocks which can be made into a small wall hanging or could be the start of a Sampler Quilt. Advice on colour will form part of this first session and instructions will be given for the first 2 blocks. Ideal for those with little or no knowledge of patchwork and quilting.

HEART SEWING WREATH with Morwenna Southgate, Fee £25 10 – 3pm
Join Morwenna who will help you to create a beautiful indoor wreath to decorate your home or sewing room. These can be themed as a stunning sewing wreath decorated with wooden bobbins wrapped in homespun, a beautiful fabric bow & even miniature knitting needles, or simply hearts.
Visit the shop and see a lovely sample of this workshop. A fun & enjoyable workshop.... they make beautiful presents too!

Saturday 18th September
RAG RUG MAKING with Jo McIntosh from Knit One Weave One
Fee £30 Materials provided but feel free to bring your own selection of old clothes you’d like to recycle or fabrics you’d like to use
10 – 3pm - Ragwork is a traditional craft that was employed to turn unwanted, worn out clothes into much needed rugs and floor coverings. In the last few years the craft has been revived to produce not only rugs, but also pictures, hats, bags etc. Ragwork can be done in various ways including hooking, prodding, plaiting, knitting and crochet.
During this ragwork workshop you will learn how to draw your design onto hessian, prepare strips of fabric and use a latch hook to create a ragwork picture.
Instruction will be given on the best types of fabric to use, what type of picture is suitable for a beginner and how to finish the picture when it is complete.

NEEDLEFELTING with Michelle Dickson
Fee: £25 including Starter Kit Learn the wonderful art of Needlefelting with Michelle who will teach you how to add needlefelted features to felt pictures, felt balls and even a woollen coat.

Thursday 23rd September 10am - 3pm
REVERSIBLE PINWHEEL QUILT with Claire Wrights Fee £25
Use your scraps or leftover strips from a Jelly Roll or even a Charm Square pack, to make a simple block which can be machine or hand pieced. Quilt as you go, hand sew the pads together and your quilt is finished. It's reversible too! Call in the shop to see a beautiful sample!

FREE DEMONSTRATION ON QUICK NINE PATCH & QUICK FLYING GEESE by Val Bennett
From 10am to 12 noon - These two patchwork classics can be made in extra quick time using superbly simple techniques. Once you’ve seen how to do them this way you’ll never do them in any other way! This is a machine technique.

FAMILY WORKSHOP – FABULOUS FELT with Michelle
Fee £15 per adult/child pair. £6 per additional child,
Have fun being creative together. Children bring an adult along and each make an item to impress.
Make baubles, hanging decorations, toys or jewellery for children or pets using dyed Merino wool. This method is strangely relaxing and therapeutic so you may need to bring your sleeping bag! All materials included.
